Yeah, I'll try to get some pictures and measurements tomorrow. The holes on the plate seem to match up with the frame as far as distance apart - but the mount itself seems like it may be mounted a bit off on the sliders tube itself.

I wonder if I'll be able to do this in the apartment parking lot this weekend alone or if I'll die with a heavy-ass slider on top of me. Either way I'm sure the results will entertain.

Looking very good Cody. Just curious, why didn't you paint them first?

Have to make sure everything bolts together as it should before I make them all fancy.

Install and removal is pretty simple. I think it was a 24mm socket for the control arm, and 19mm racheting wrench for the other bolts. The ones that need some repositioning are 14s.

The new longer control arm bolts were larger than a 24 (my largest impact socket) but I just used an adjustable crescent wrench and vice grips for those.

The new control arm bolts are 27mm or 1 1/16"

Chibo, did you get them on? I'm sure I can get a couple guys to help. Also, if you go to Iron Horse Coatings over by Kalil bottling on the West side, he will powder coat them for a great price, he does all our coating for my work and I have sent many people to him. For my sliders, he told me 60 bucks each for any of his stock colors.

I've got a friend coming over today and we're going to attempt it in the parking lot, I couldn't convince the owner of my shop (Latham's Collision) to let me come in on an off day. :hillbilly: Thank you for the offer though.

$60/slider sounds pretty good, I'll probably be stopping by there after I test fit these things. I also need to powercoat my downhill mountainbike frame so I know where I'll be going for that as well. :) That's the place close to the Maverik gas station, right?

Threw them on...

Question, how does this work: In the middle (drivers side) I had to slide the plate between the frame rail and the brake lines but I doubt I can fit the nut and plate through the lines and everything.

Passenger side, how am I supposed to secure the center rigger?

 I sort of want to clean the metal and spray them with clear.

Chibo - I took a flat screwdriver here and gently pryed near that screw clamp thing to get enough clearance for the plate and secured nut to go through:

For that center piece on the passenger side, there are secured nuts inside of the vehicle frame. You should have 2 small bolts (14mm) that if they line up will screw that plate to the frame.

I have no holes in my frame where the plate is. :meh: I think I'll just MIG the thing on at work, it's close enough.

On the driver side did you have to do the back first?

Thanks :) I dropped the slider on my face once, s*** is heavy. :hillbilly:

Ok, upon reinspection I do have the holes in my frame. One lines up fine but the bolt doesn't thread, the other is off like 3/4". I'll mess with it when I have a warm garage to use.

The drivers side will require me using a handwheel phillips screw driver to remove the brake line clip because it's so close to where the bar has to mount that I can't pull it away from the frame enough and my tank is too close for a small screwdriver.

Notes upon actually driving the truck - these stiffened the frame more than stock or something - I feel more through the chassis. I think this is a good thing. It gives me hope for my 240sx noodle chassis and the cage going in it. :flipoff2:

Yeah, I felt the stiffness feeling too with them on compared to before I had them.

I didn't bolt those up on the side since they didn't align properly.

Yes, the rear of the DS had to go on first. I had to slide the whole slider up like 3" to get the bolts and plates connected, and then slide it back to the correct position. You should notice the body "lumps" which prevent you from inserting the bolt in the proper slider position if you try to do the control arm bolt first on that side.

When in doubt....weld. When things don't Fit....weld. :grinpimp:

So, who is still left to receive their order from SROR?

I do hope everyone's gotten theirs already, but that would leave me as the last one... And that would really make me  instead of just :frown:

Regardless, I'm feeling a bit  and :o about the whole thing...

Being a newbie to off-road in general, off-road equipment buying in particular, and group-buys in specific, maybe I'm expecting too much in the way of actually getting what I ordered/paid for, or being able to have a realistic expectation of when said item might arrive...

Anyone have any suggestions/comments? :hhmm:

I'd appreciate any help figuring out what to do about this, because I'd much rather be :bounce2: than :bang:

Call and email until they are so frustrated that they have no choice but to finish and ship your order.

Thats what I did and finally got my stuff.

They are quality sliders, so I'm definately happy to finally get them, but I know your pain in waiting forever and being confused as to their status.

Hopefully the few vendors we have can straighten out the issues causing the delays, but from speaking with many others with similar order situations, it seems a lot of these guys have a problem with dropping the ball on current orders if a local buyer rolls into their shop. They knock out a lot of projects for the local guys who drop into their shops in person.

If the vendors get some sort of "deli counter - take a number" type system it should keep them on a first orders first priority basis, rather than a first person in my shop to distract me gets priority service setup.

Hope you get em soon.

I wish you are the last one, that would make me a very happy man! We are still waiting for eight (8) more sets of sliders.

Regardless, I'm feeling a bit  and :o about the whole thing...

Don't :bang: too hard otherwise you won't be able to :bounce2: when you get your sliders. I email'd Jim this morning for status, I will update everybody when I hear back from him.

I know how you feel Bio D.I think 6 months is too long.was talked out of a refund 1 month ago, said there coming next.Asked for a refund 1 week ago and I've gotten no reply.grrr.

Jim,

I have sent you 4 emails and left 2 voice messages since 2/28, asking for update and call back. I haven't heard back from you.

You have promised thing will move a lot faster in 2008, and our sliders will be done in a few weeks. We haven't seen any of that. In fact, getting hold of you is a lot more difficult in 2008.

Please update us with the status of the sliders. You should have enough time to figure out a realistic delivery schedule by now. Everybody has paid in full in 2007; we are waiting for 7 sets of sliders (and one refund).

Have you refunded Travis?

We try very hard to work with you, but you won't even reply email or call back. I am hoping I don't have to post in CHAT to get you to respond.

Regards,
Jackson
