Are you coming up to the parts swap to pick it up?
Yeah, I'm planning on it... As long as Marshall will have it completed. I don't have much to swap, really, but I'd like to see everyone.

I am hoping to make the parts swap also - roll up in Elsie early before it gets too hot; maybe bring a small trailer and 5 x 31x10.5R15 BFGs with me - but I'd like to know I have a buyer in advance.

If it works, @CharlestonG8R - you are welcome to navigate for me if you'll be driving yours home. I'll let you know for sure when I confirm my kitchen pass.

That would be perfect, sir! If Crubacca is not ready, we will figure something else out.

Drive the 100 up and I'll swap you some 80 series motor mount for it:flipoff2:.

That feeling you get when a box of Cruiser stuff shows up at the house:

I should know the fate of the El Camino by lunch tomorrow.
I'm going down to Johns Island to see if i runs tomorrow morning.
All I have done so far is pulled the plugs and put some marvel mystery oil in the cylinders.
That was 2 or so months ago.
I also bought a battery for the Mercedes, so it will be on the road soon.

I would like to make the parts swap, too,
just depends what these other cars/trucks do.

I want to install an oil cooler for the Transmission; seems pretty straight forward; the send line from the transmission will go to the radiator, out from the radiator to the aux cooler, out of the aux cooler back to the transmission.

What I can't seem to figure out from reading the threads of the guys who've done this is which of the two lines coming out of the transmission is sending fluid to be cooled, and which line is the return line? Can any of you guys point me to where to figure that out (FSM hasn't been helpful, though it's possible I overlooked it)?

when the truck is cold, crank it up for 30 seconds and see which one is warm.(by the trans)

pretty cool, but not ready to trade in my 62 for it yet.

Anyone turn wrenches this weekend?

I knocked out an oil change and mounted a transmission oil cooler; still need to run the lines though.

No wrenching yet, but I did pickup a small hide-a-way CB for install. I also need to get my oil changed.... Maybe Monday after work.

working on my front diff today...soon

No Wrenching, but built, raised and got a wire antenna on air. #hamradio

Heck yeah, Ben! Been meaning to take the exam...

In my limited number of trail rides, everyone was on FRS. I see on the boards CB is the way to go. Do you and @BenMara use (or intend to use) your Ham for off-road? It seems like a good choice with random repeater scattered around and the ability to string up a make-shift wire antenna should you need to make emergency contact. I just don't hear many people using Ham off-road.

There's been a huge movement to get folks to use HAM OffRoad. It has so many advantages... I have a handheld HAM, but I can't transmit because I'm not licensed. So far, I've yet to go on a ride where most folks were equipped with HAM. For now, CB is still the way to go. FRS is second, but I'd sure like for everyone to gravitate to HAM.

Pardon me for thread creepin on the LCLC forum here :D ... We used HAM out on the trails in CO and it worked well. I'd still say less than 33% of the vehicles were equipped. All I had was a little Baofeng handheld and ended up being slotted as a tailgunner since I was the only other in the group other than the leader with comms that could reach out.

It is real nice when you have multiple groups on multiple trails at an event. Front to Rear CB/FRS can usually get there but to get up with another group or a basecamp then you need that range.
