I already emailed them to confirm but I am betting this is going to be for Aussie cruisers only.
i saw that one on their website yesterday, looks like it's just a CarPlay adapter kit that uses the existing factory hardware and screen.

Got this reply from them:

"Unfortunately this new Land Cruiser 200 Series Sahara unit is designed for the Australian market which does not have Sirius radio and different AM/FM frequencies."

I'm wondering if it still might work on a US spec, albeit without Sirius and AM/FM. Personally I don't really use either of them anymore. 99% of my listening is thru bluetooth with Spotify/Apple.

This might be my favorite large screen option so far and I'm very interested in trying it. One of my big concerns is input lag when changing songs on the steering wheel or phone before it reflects to the screen and audio from the system. How has that experience been for you so far?
I haven’t noticed any lag at all. It seems the same as the factory. Been pretty surprised. Even boot up / engine start is instant. The only thing I’ve noticed is it takes a few seconds to connect to CarPlay when I start the car. But I think that’s kind of expected. Overall I haven’t found any issues yet. I did have problems getting the 360 cameras working but I connected them wrong. The install is definetly not easy. I’m glad I purchased from the fitting bay as they have been helpful. I almost purchased directly from one of the sellers on AliExpress. I don’t think you save as much money as it seems. You have to buy an amp decoder and a camera converter. Communication with the AliExpress sellers was rough as well….

Great insight. I'm talking with one of my techs now but as long as we get the right parts it shouldn't be an issue for him to *heavily* assist me on the install and this just seems like the best option by far right now for a full replacement.

Im not sure what you mean by Low Ratio…

The wider photo shows what I wanted to see. Personally, I do not think the lines of this new unit and the rest of the dash are compatible enough. Not for me, since I am a sucker for OEM stuff and there are other solutions out there that retain originality. Also, I am not 100% convinced the installation of this unit does not permanently damage the brackets need to mount the OEM unit back. So, looks to me a one-way solution. If it kaputz, very expensive to revert to OEM. That said, however, this is A MILLION times better than the Tesla-style aftermarket screens I have seen somewhere else. If you really hate the OEM 200 screen, this is probably the way to go.

It's frustrating because the technology is out there for an "oem like" solution but due to the low volume of sales here in North America it makes sense as to why companies like Alpine or Pioneer don't offer us the head units that you can get in Australia. That juice isn't worth the squeeze to them, at least that's what I reckon. I'd love to see Toyota take a page out of Porsche's book and offer OEM upgrades for older model head units but that seems even less likely than us eventually getting something from the aftermarket.

The brackets don't effect the reinstallation of the OEM unit. I wasn't convinced either so I tested it before and after. The OEM unit is mounted via 10mm bolts that are no where near those brackets. I actually reinstalled the OEM unit because I couldn't get the camera to work initially.

I’m covered here, because my cooled/ventilated seats don’t work for squat 😎.
My drivers one wasn't working for squat. Then I discovered one of my kids had stuffed a glove under the drivers seat and it was blocking the airflow for the back of the seat. Removed the glove and it's hugely better. If there's nothing blocking yours you might want to clean the filter

how's the unit holding for you now after a few months of use? i'm torn between a full replacement like this android unit versus some of the linux based interface boxes that retain the factory screen.

i'm really curious about the sound quality. the info on the fitting bay's website says the audio is 4-channel - have you noticed any difference in the audio quality when using a CarPlay source, such as apple music?

also, on phone call quality - the quality of the bluetooth phone calls on the factory unit are less than stellar when compared to other OEM's solutions (ford, GM,etc). have you realized improved bluetooth call quality with this new head unit?

I have a 08 so little different. But I just found this unit. Wondering if it’s the same kind of thing from china with a better website lol. The link is broken, how much was the aliexpress one?

I’m still not convinced the AC controls will all work with this.

I installed a Custom Car stereo systems Android interface unit in my 2020 HE.
Very pleased with unit and customer service.

Yeah the AU air conditioning controls are different, wonder if anyone installed one on a USDM 2008-2015
