After watching the install video it looks better than I initially thought. Cutting those mounts is a deal breaker for me though simply due to the fact that you are screwed if this thing bugs out or your just decide you don't care for it and want to return to the OEM head unit. Sigh... I miss the days of just being able to drop a Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, etc into pretty much anything and it just worked.

I also watched the install video and found the unit a bit laggy when he was testing the controls. It was painful to watch the cutting of the OEM brackets. Definitely a one way road. If this thing fails you are massively screwed. I would think you need a whole new dash to put the OEM unit back. Finally, am I the only one finding that giant screen a bit awkward and out of place? IMO, it does not fit well with the original lay out of the dash.

I am a sucker for OEM, so sticking with the Beatsonic unit (or any of the other similar solutions discussed here in the forum) and my OEM screen. But I can see people using this as an alternative to the tesla style gigantic unit, which is also a non-starter for me.

Seems like one of the better options. I still can’t decide which Carplay route to go. Not to big on the Grom type options since I have a 17 with the resistive screen but also don’t love adding a portable screen above. Cutting the OEM brackets seems not great though…

You know which one he’s using on Ali that supports the heated/vented seats? His is over $1k more
i'll send him a follow-up and find out if they do anything to it - any kind of firmware changes or what - and see what i get back...standby...

The do reply in the comment section of the install video that the oem units still fits as the brackets they cut are not used to hold the original unit.

Any updates on this, I'm really intersted if anyone pulled a plug on one of these or one off of aliexpress?

Beating a dead horse here but what a miss by Mr. T to not implement Carplay/AA into the 200/LX570. They managed to get it into every one of their other old, outgoing models before end of production except for the 200.
