LC Pulling to Right

I've had this issue for a bit, but finally want to get it resolved once and for all. Vehicle is at the dealership now and they have gone through every part top-to-bottom and have been unable to resolve. My LC pulls to the right when accelerating. They removed the front drive shaft and this resolved the issue -- very strange. The CV's are good -- they even swapped them and same issue.

Does anyone else with a lifted 200 have this issue? Also, curious, does your front end lift much when accelerating hard? Which suspension system are you using?

JB what dealer are you at? I'm headed to Camelback around 430 to get TPMS reprogrammed. would like to see your truck.
can compare CV angles, rear control arm/ axle angles. If I get on it aggresively, the front end comes up a little. I'm running the tundra arms with Icon shocks.

That would be AWESOME if you could meet my service adviser -- Robert Gonzales at Camelback Toyota. That is EXACTLY what we've been looking for! Another 200 with a lift to compare it to. I would head down there to meet you, but I have a meeting to get to.
 
I would look for something that is allowing your alignment to shift under load. And I would double check your caster settings.
 
I have the same issue. We tried the new UCA' with a small improvement but it is still pulling. Just like torque steer. The alignment guy has tried everything and can't find anything worn or failing. Icons on the front and OEM's still on the back.i hope for a cure because when the trailer is on it is close to dangerous, gas pedal pulls right and off the gas darts to the left.
 
Very strange. Mine doesn't push to the left when letting off the gas.

It depends. The more you accelerate, the more to pulls. Happens at any speed, however, but most noticeable from complete stop. You noticeably have to hold the wheel to the left on starts.
 
Try putting the factory shocks back on. Also, Toyota's alignment specs are for a vehicle at stock ride height, not lifted ride height. But I doubt that makes much of a difference. My other guess is that you need an adjustable track bar to compensate for the ride height for the rear. In fact I bet that's the issue. Your rear axle is probably offset to one side by .5 to 1.0 inch with a lift which can cause a pull. Good lift kits have either a track bar relocation bracket or a adjustable track bar.
 
my 2008 has been pulling to the right since day one... its better after alignment - but goes right back after a few k miles ...

Drives me nuts :-)

I saw a thread recently discussing adjustable panhard rods, think a couple companies out of out Australia sell them IIRC. Haven't seen anyone on the forum running one yet, but some discussion about it. My rear-end is about a half inch off I think, no pulling that I have noticed though.

Well the way I think about it is that if you push the truck from the rear in the center of the bumper, you will push it straight ahead. But if you push it from say the right rear of the bumper, the vehicle is going to want to go to the left. Similarly, if the rear axle is totally centered, it will push the truck straight. If off center, it will make the truck want to drift to the side. So if the axle is off to the left, it should make the truck want to go the right under acceleration, and go to the left under deceleration. Under light cruising it probably doesn't pull because the rear axle is barely pushing. I imagine thought that tire style and type as well as the alignment settings the vehicle has can affect how much it does this.
Also to the OP, try rotating your tires, tires can cause a pull if they have are coned a little and go past QC during the manufacturing process. But usually tires will cause a pull at acceleration, cruising, and deceleration.

Pulling to the right at times is to be expected since most paved roads are crowned with the yellow lines usually being the top of the crown to allow water to run off the road. Some areas have roads that have a lot of crown, some have roads with very little if any crowning. This causes the vehicle to want to drift onto the shoulder. When I do alignments, I try to compensate for road crown a little bit, but personally I don't want a vehicle to go totally straight down the road with no hands on the wheel. Reason being is that if the driver of the vehicle falls asleep or gets distracted the vehicle will go onto the shoulder rather than into oncoming traffic. A while ago I put new struts on a buddy of mines car, I told him since he was my friend and seemed a good driver that I would totally compensate for road crown which I don't usually do. Well a week later he fell asleep at the wheel on the freeway. Fortunately their was a large guard rail which the car drove up on and got caught on and came to a stop. Had it been a smaller road with no guard rail he could have drifted into oncoming traffic. Ironically though where he hit the guard rail, had the vehicle drifted to the shoulder instead, he would have gone off of a large drop off and their was no fence or anything on the shoulder. Im not sure if he would have survived.

As list it is not for our year trucks but doesn't look as though it would be difficult at all to have this as a solution. I've thought about going this route just haven't made the call to purchase. TC is mucho $$$$

I just emailed Total Chaos to see if their adjustable pan hard bar can be purchased by itself. I'll post back their response.
