LC 200 versus Lexus LX 570

My LX sees dirt, but right now I will not be wheeling it as hard as I do my 100... why? Because I have my 100, which has sliders. If I ever get rid of that truck, my LX will become my primary off-road vehicle.
EDIT: (my sarcasm button just got hit...)

Hello, my name is Nobody. As was stated earlier, I take my LX off road. I enjoy a cool beverage, as my LX automatically raises to clear the obstacle that just passed my front camera just in time to make sure that I do not hang up on it.

Yeah, Nobody is the name... you said it.

I had forgotten about that tool, Pagemaster, until this thread was resurrected. Good times.

lol! I just noticed the dates on this thread. Didn't realize it was ancient.
When a guy has over 500 posts and ZERO likes (pagemaster)? -I shoulda tuned out. ;)

@Lummie not to highjack the thread, but what wheels are these? (Spacers?)

Mine goes off-road.

Here's my contribution to this thread... 99.9% of the reason I chose the LC was for this one very important logo below the Toyota badge and above the license plate...

I do admit I get tired of saying I've got a Land Cruiser in Lexus clothing. Just kinda hate to say I have a Lexus. :-)

This is my life all the time. People are always amazed that we take it anywhere near off road. I also have to explain what a Land Cruiser is.

Random 1 "Are you the guy with the built 4Runner?"

Me "nope."

Random 2 "oh man, sequoia right?! Looks badass!"

Me "nope"

Random 3 "so that's a highlander, right?"

Me "yes, it's a f-ing highlander."

I think I saw a personalized tag on an LC that said "NTHILNDR" or similar. I get it now.

It's literally Toyotas longest running nameplate, and known all the world over as a legendary off road vehicle. Interesting to me that most people don't seem to know what it is, despite saying Land Cruiser on the back.

So true! I was at my local VW dealership a while back picking up an oil filter for my daughter's Tiguan and while my LC was parked inside the service bay I walked back out and passed two service guys when one of them stopped me to ask if that was my Sequioa. He then went on to say that was his dream car and he would own one someday. I just smiled and said thanks, Toyota builds a nice vehicle ;)

I think service guys do that intentionally, trying to bait us. They know we paid a ton for a low profile vehicle and figure that our pride will take the bait. I love not taking the bait and showing them that cruiser owners don't care about what other people think. We just love high quality without flash.

I think you give the service guys too much credit in thinking they are trying to bait anyone. I assume most people are nice and not trying to get a rise out of anyone.

Everyone that has called my truck a 4Runner, sequoia or highlander were all genuinely trying to be nice, and so I'm always nice in return but I explain its a Land Cruiser. To which the invariable reply is "Oh! I didn't know they still made those!"

The guys at my local Toyota service dept definitely know it's a Land Cruiser. I doubt guys at a VW service dept necessarily know what a LC is.

Yep, it's just a Toyota... Smaller than the Sequoia... and just a little bigger than a Highlander... not much to 'em really...

I bought the LC because it was low key and a few of my staff members asked me why I did not buy a sequoia. The response I gave them was, the sequoia was to big and we already have a 2015 4Runner. If they knew what it cost they would complain and ask for raises.
