I just saw this in Jackson, Wyoming. Talked to the owner. He had it shipped to Germany and had this done and back to US. Sold his house. Lives in it.

Pretty crazy.

Yeah it was pretty crazy. He has a propane tank on the side and a kitchen etc. It’s pretty amazing.
He claimed there are 8 in the US and he has the only 200. Said the rest of them were 80s.

Curious if he spilled the beans on cost?

He did not. But it was top notch. He said he had to ship it in a container and after he had the work done it wouldn’t fit in a certain size container so it cost even more to ship it back.

Yeah, that's a Maltec conversion. It's been a while since I inquired, but it's something around $175k inclusive of the vehicle. I imagine it can go higher...
Still cheaper than earthroamer. When a quality build like UTE/FWC setup, it's up that price range too.

I like the OG sand tracks

Awesome. But the front bumper appears too close to the body. Will hit it as the frame flexes.

I was In serious discussions with Maltec two years ago at OVX West but couldn’t get additional communications going electronically. We were talking close to $150K not including the donor vehicle and they had to approve the donor. The build quality is amazing, and I was tempted, still am if the timing works out. But I’d have to start with a 200 with less miles than mine to be able to make a commitment like that.
