Should be fine. My 275/70/18 fit in low mode with occasional rub when in reverse and turning the wheel about 3/4 of full rotation (and I have 1.25" spacers which increases likelihood of rubbing). It hits at the pinch weld. 285/70/17 are slightly smaller.
