Hi everybody, I really like this board, it's the best one Ive seen yet. I have just purchesed my first LC, coming from a strong run with Junk, I mean Jeep....typo

I Have a question though- what is the largest tire size that I can fit on my 1999 LC ? I have searched around here and have found 275/70 16 is the metric size for 31.2" Will 33's fit and not rub? I will also be using the stock rims.

#2 - Boy- the key programing issue really seems to get the ole blood pressure going. There are many posts about this, my problem is as follows: I have 2 keys, both with the built in remote lock/unlock feature. Only one of those works. I followed the instructions of a previous post (ie insert key, remove, lock-unlock the doors 5 times ect ect). I get to the point where it says to push the lock key on the remote to be programed. The LC verifies that it recived a signal from it by cycling the locks. The instuction sheet says that "Programing is now complete" - but the key still doesn't function the locks. Am I doing something wrong? Doest the post have something missing?

Ok here it goes.

1. Key not in ignition, drivers door open and unlocked.
2. Insert Key into igntition cylinder and pull out.
3. Within 40 secs, press lock and unlock 5 times. lock and unlock=1.
4. Close drivers door and open it.
5. Within 40 sec, press lock and unlock 5 times.
6. Insert key into ingnition cylinder
7. Turn key from lock to unlock 1 time (add mode)
8. If successful to this point doors will lock then unlock to confirm add mode.
9. Press the lock and unlock buttons on transmitter simultaneously for more than 1 sec.
10. Press any button on the transmitter.
11. If doors lock and unlock one time, success. Two times-start over.

Hope this does it for you.

Thanks in advance. Oh yea - I dont think I will ever buy another Jeep, not after this truck....

Any body care to help? I can live without the key issue answer but the tire size I was really looking for feedback. thanks again!

mainer...welcome to 'MUD! Uh...I guess I'll be the one to clue you in on the SEARCH feature. You see we don't mind helping you out once you have done a little due diligence on your own with the SEARCH feature. This topic has been covered by many threads...

But since your brand new I'll help: 285R75/16 will fit just fine. You might even be able to squeeze 295R75/16. Of course each tire manufacturer and tread style will alter the actual tire dimensions. FYI: With my OME lift (2" in rear and 1.5" in front) my newly fit M/TR 315R75/16 fit perfectly (1" spacers in front) without any mod (ok I lied...I had to take a razor knife to the plastic inner fender wall bulge)...I didn't even have to adjust the steering radius.

Oh yah...one more thing, I almost forgot to give you the official welcome to MUD solute: :flipoff2:
