Need a recommendation for laptop computer that will run Techstream diagnostics and OVTune should it be available in the near future. Not very knowledgeable to any OS other than Mac that I've been running for years. Looking for some parameters as to Processor size, Ram size, Hardrive size and MS Windows edition to run the computer.

Thanks for the help.

Any cheap laptop from Bestbuy or Amazon with WIndows10 will be able to do that if you are following this guide:

Ok, thanks. Been a long time since I used a PC.

Do you have a Mac laptop? If you do, download virtual box (free software) on the Mac and run your windows OS from there.

If you’re looking for a dedicated laptop to run techstream, i would look into the Lenovo t440 and newer t models. T440 t460 t480 refurbed on ebay or Craig’s comes in at a reasonable price point. You don’t need the latest and greatest for techstream. I think Toyota uses the Panasonic tough books as their choice of laptop.

I do have a Mac Laptop, a little hesitate at loading MS stuff on this Mac but I will do on your recommendation.

You’ll need to dedicate about 10gb at minimum of hard drive space towards windows. As long as you’re only running techstream. If you are using other programs I’d recommend more hard drive space dedicated to your virtual box.

Virtual box will let you run windows without causing issues to your main system. The more technical people will use the term “sandbox”.

I haven’t had any issues running my VB with techstream in the past 7 years on my MBP 2013.

If you’re doing government work or if you feel more comfortable, get the second laptop for $300
