Wanting a rear axle to match my fj80 front for my 94 shortbed build I came up with this. FJ40 center and Tacoma outters. 60.5 wide, no c-clips, and no special parts so replacements are easy. I think it’s going to be great under my 4000 pound truck.

I like it.

What's the logic on the bearing cap load bolts? To my knowledge, the caps spreading open has never been the weak point in a 9.5" cruiser diff.

More importantly, let's see your iron worker that made those bends in the plate.....HA!

Dangit! I saw the kerf mark in the bends and thought you might be using a press but I was hoping to see a big 12 ton ironworker sitting in the corner. It's on my wish list for my forging/ fab shop I have just not found one that I can afford....YET.

If I’m going to go thru all this work , why not?

For sure. If that's the justification, put a ring gear load bolt in there.

That would be nice having one for sure. That a 30 ton air over hydraulic press with handmade tooling. It works for me and I’m able to get all those bends made.
