Is the idea that bitcoin is as good an idea as cybertruck?

Not sure how to take this. I like my Tacoma and my FJ60 as well.

The cybertruck is ugly, rough on the outside, and a love/hate conflict magnet (go figure). But the technology in it is actually pretty cool. Best way I can equate it is that its a "smart phone car" compared to a regular car. It has had a lot of quirks since its release but with every software package it gets better. The hardware is pretty solid (aside from the limited range in batteries) and it really is pretty tough. Being able to tweak everything through the software has actually made quite a few improvements already.
I've driven in a GTR and knew someone that had one and although its not quite a super car in beast mode it will beat most "sports cars" not just off the line but around a track.
I haven't had a chance to off road it yet but from people I've talked to (the ones that know how to air down their tires...) its pretty sweet baja and not a bad trail rig.

Yes, never had an interest in them. The Bollinger B1 did peak my interest, not because of the overall body but because of the suspension/drivetrain of it. That was pretty bad ass. Unfortunately they went super expensive then disappeared....

The Cyber truck isn’t anything special in terms of a computer on wheels, similar to All EVs for the last >10 years. EVs are better in almost every way the. iCEs. Im 10 years, with 2 teslas in Alaska (s then 3). Glad you like the CT and it was made you try an EV. I passed on my CT reservation when my time to order came up.

After owning a Cybertruck AWD for the past 4 months I was happy to sell it the other day (not too happy about the HUGE loss of $$). I enjoyed the steering more than anything else. Backing a 4 wheel steering vehicle is really easy. But the Cybertruck was my first and last EV. I know that people love them but after driving LC and LX vehicles for the past couple of decades, I think the LC and LX are much more to my liking. I drove my LX600 from OKC to Santa Fe last weekend and had a quiet and comfortable ride without the range anxiety. Filling up in Amarillo took less than 5 minutes. Charging the CT at a supercharger would have taken between 45 minutes to an hour and would have cost somewhere between $35-40 to go to from 20% to 100%. It cost me $54.00 using premium to fill my LX600.
I will share a funny story about my first and last experience with the self-drive feature. After picking up my CT in Kansas City (during protests), I thought I would have it drive me to the first supercharger since they delivered the CT with about 40%. It turned into the parking lot where the chargers were located (I could see them) and the CT must have thought I needed something to eat because it turned into a McDonalds and got in the drive through. I took over and got it out of there, but being a fool, I thought I would test it again and it turned started to turn into either a Duncan Donuts or KFC. There was a clear path to the charging station and I have often wondered if others have had such experiences. It also decided to slam on the brakes for no apparent reason at 75mph while using cruise control.
My grandson is upset with me for getting rid of though.

There is a misconception with FSD supervised that it is perfect or even for that matter as good as the cars. You must have been a recent purchaser because when many of us purchased them FSD wasn't even available and when it finally was in October version 12 was absolute crap. When version 13 came out is when it really started behaving.
On the charging note running 10% to 50-70% is the norm on a trip and takes 15-30 minutes, enough time to take a piss, grab a coffee or something to eat every 2-3 hours. There are 3 options now for charging; fastest, best amenities, and least stops.

I can say that in the last 2 months doing a 4600 mile trip and then 1400 mile trip FSD is doing quite well. Getting you into the general parking lot for the cybertruck isn't considered bad at this point. The trucks only have several million miles of data on them now where the cars have billions of miles, it will be a while.

I still own my 85 FJ60 and don't have a plan to get rid of it. I enjoy both.

I picked mine up the end of March 2025 and put about 2900 miles on it before I had enough. I don't carry a phone with me but do have an apple watch which I used as my key. It was regularly losing it sync with the CT and I would have to go to the Telsa app to get in and/or drive. We have had a lot of rain in OKC since I picked up the truck and standing out in the rain trying to get the door to open is not a lot of fun. But, I will admit that it was fun to drive and that it handled surprisingly well.

I think that is the going to be in the future for everyone whether we want it or not. The reviews for the LX700 that I have read have been positive.

Yes. And a generator. Love my Ford.

I'm not for or against electric. Both combustion and electric have their advantages and disadvantages. The technology in the cybertruck though is amazing, it makes me feel like I'm in a 2012 car anytime I get in anything else.
As for the generator I've had a 50A gas/propane generator for years. It has worked well for me.

I do agree the FSD functionality (especially in the cars) will make the road safer and more accessible to the elderly at large. It just needs another year or two to polish and prove itself.

I'm not a fan of a lot of tech in my vehicles. I'm an old guy that likes basic vehicles that I can fix myself. But if I gotta have an electric truck this is it. An electric motor on each wheel too. HUGE bed. I'd probably upgrade the headlights though.

That is crazy! That is definitely a hardware4 Tesla car. Probably the new Model Y Juniper or the refreshed Model 3.
The cybertruck would have stopped (hopefully before hitting them) but would not have been able to make that turn.
There is a very big gap in FSD between the new hardware 4 cars and the older hardware 3 cars and cybertruck (hardware 4). All of the cybertaxi/unsupervised FSD testing is being done on these new cars.

Also grain of salt what James @ InvestAnswers says about FSD. He drives a cybertruck and has it FSD everywhere. He is more trusting than he should be of the cybertruck FSD at this point. He also has a model X (their high end SUV/car) and that has better quality FSD. I follow him because of bitcoin and investment information (he is heavily in Tesla investing as well).

We are still a couple years away in general for FSD reliability (HW4 cars possibly excluded).

Got a 2021 Y with 100k miles clocked driven in the northeast. Zero issues with it and drives in the snow great. I’m absolutely amazed there has been no problems with this car.
