I've been looking for this for a while now.

Great to see this rating, I was pretty sure the LC200 had amazing passive safety and structural integrity but it's great to see it proved so.

Offset test is by far the toughest and has done significant damage to the reputations of many solid new cars like the current Mercedes C-Class.

Big thanks to you, GX-R, for sharing.

Thanks for posting, it's good to see some data.

It's interesting that the side airbags did not deploy. I know it's a frontal crash, but I thought they would deploy to help prevent the head from hitting any interior pillars.

Too bad they couldn't do a side impact test as well, instead they just made an assumption and gave it a 4 out of 4.

i wish they would show the side impact also and the pole test; that is usually a killer for most vehicles. I seen the range rover one (the 2012 not the new one) and it collapsed like a tin can! I guess toyota knows what they are doing and not going to that panoramic moon roof thing.
I s anyone else concerned that the back end comes up so much??? I know that its front heavy and the speed meeting with that solid impact thing (what ever they call it) plus that thing is low. I'm just worried that any little force from another vehicle will force a roll over. if anyone has the side impact video would love to see thanks for posting this

yes but it seems when its a single pole similar to electric poles or light poles which we have all over the highways here in the usa it destroys certain vehicles. And apparently this is actually a common crash as per the insurance companies. here is the video of the land rover crash its about middle of the video

There was actually no structural damage anywhere near the passenger compartment. VERY impressive.

Actually the tests that failed most of the new cars was the aforementioned pole test. Several Toyota models also failed it. But its not an official government test, but one done by the insurance companies. Almost all new cars can pass the frontal offset with flying colors, including the C Class.

Wonder how Slee Sliders would do on the pole test.
