I just noticed when waxing a friend's 200 that there is a lack of paint on the top of the tailgate.
Does anyone else have this.

"Top of the tailgate ...," "top of the tailgate ..." Where, exactly, would that be?

It's the top edge of the rear hatch where it meets the roof.

Yeah, I have issues.

Here is a theory since your in snow country also. LC parked outside, snow and ice accumulation, opening tailgate over time with rubbing...??

I've noticed that the rear fairing pushes hard on snow and ice build up when opening the tailgate.

Good theory but it's garage kept most of the time and when it's not I clean snow from roof before driving.
