Here's a couple of pics from our Cabin Lake trip. I'm going out of town for a week, so this is all I can do at the moment. Mat will do the write up. The second pic is a full moon in the dark over the lake. ;p

:D I thought that might get some interest.
I have finally returned, since Marcin and I were the last remaining in the field I can actually write something up now on the trip. First, the winch: ARB Magnum:
Hand Winches
turns out there isn't an actual "kit" that comes with everything so you have to order the stuff individually, like the cable spool, the winch and even the handle, and it doesn't come with a bag. As for cost, talk to your local ARB distributor. Yes it works, and really well too.

Only Steve's crew used the stove. They were building it as we left camp on Sunday. They were staying there after we left for the next destination. :flipoff2:

Not sure how much, but these are generally referred to as a 'tirfor' in construction. Possibly cheaper than an ARB model.

Tirfor is apparently a brand name.

From experience they work very well righting a vehicle after a flop, since you generally need a lateral pull. Using a front winch requires lateral rigging which can be more work. The one Matt has pulls on both strokes so it has a 100% duty cycle.

I was wondering why there was so much traffic on cold water road. i new the cok was closed but did not know why.

the stove was already up there. and yes it was warm.

I left Matt, Sopel, Marcin at Merritt at 12:30 and hit this traffic delay 12 km south of Merrit about 1:00 pm Monday . The car was cut into 2 pieces heading north. Quite a horrific scene - unbelievable that no was killed.
