We will be heading up Saturday, just need the time and place to meet...

Maybe the decided (best) route?

I guess Cabin Lake would be a good place, or Lightning which is right beside it (should be easily withing CB range). You can see on Spot where we'll be but I was thinking of having the first day there (Saturday) a bit on the relaxing side and maybe do a hike or just check out the lakes near by. After that head North up to the other lakes. Any thought on that from others?

If you're only going for the one day into that area I'd suggest not too much time at Lightning Lake. The campsites at either end of the lake are not that great, muddy and buggy. You may not be in CB range since there is a substantial elevation difference and the Cabin L camp is on the other side of a ridge.

If heading up from Boston Bar I'd suggest a stop at Silver Lake, take the small trail linking to the north where Lightning Lake S campsite is, then head up Cabin L for camping. Basically the reverse run of the trip I have written up from a month ago. I'm still 50:50 on whether I'll be going on this trip, I was just up there, and I think :princess: is already making plans for me that weekend...

for one thing i dont have a spare tire anymore as some ahole stole mine, and i'm between cash to buy a new one, plus the tread on all the others are bad, and if this trip was a week later and i got paid from 2 weeks worth at the pne, i'd go and buy a set of oem steelies and 33's. i could go with you guys but if i get a flat i'm screwed and i wouldnt want to do that to anyone and screw up the trip, sucks as this is the one trip i wanted to do,

maybe next time? who knows

Jeez Matt, that sucks. This is just the kind of trip you look forward to, what's the deal with your rig?

What size tires are you running, Mat? I've got 31's I could lend you.

Lightning to Cabin via C.B. maybe if it is you and me Mat, As for the rest NO WAY. HMMMMM I am still undecided to where I am heading. It would be nice to be with the club. Wheeling is kind of limited up there though.

For Fantom and Scalp ie the info I sent you, try the skidoo trail that I marked. We just went up it a couple of feet .( Walter started whining)

I was going to post some more pics of that area but unfortunately I am using my old back-up (10 year old Toshiba portege laptop and all the pics and other stuff on my HP 9000 series.

I've got some 245/75R16's, unmounted, which is about a half inch smaller tire.

my god man, you write like a 3 year old! I will have my spot with me so you can check our progress, we will be heading up from the Boston Bar side, I've had a look at a lot of maps and it looks do-able, there is one questionable spot but we'll see what happens. If that fails we'll have to back track a little bit to "Uztillis" (or a spelling close to that) and go through there. That's why I would rather leave earlier (8:00) so we have enough time.

You know Jeff, I laugh at you. ;p My wife is trying to get me out of the house. Plus I'm working Thursday night and still meeting Mat at 8.

Feed the bunnies to the cats, and when the squirrels hibernate, don't leave any food out so that the first one that wakes up will eat the others. Then feed that squirrel to the cats.

And if you want to know what to do the cats, pm T Y L E R.

I have fish though, which I'm sure those cats would like to eat.

We are planning on bringing Steve's ATV and trailer w/36's on it. How are trails like going up to Cabin Lake? Would it be wise towing a trailer, I hear there is a bowl and sloped section, that might be a problem?

I have not worked out the details with Glenn & Gary T yet as to when we are going. If Glenn comes over here on Thursday, then we can get away at a decent time Friday morning although I doubt that Gary can get it together before 9:00 a.m.
Also, I had planned my GPS route the same as Aaron from the Coq. west to Cabin L. This is the first I heard that some are going in via Boston Bar. Doing a circle route sounds more interesting than just going out the same way. Anyway, I'll talk to them.

I will mention this again, since it got lost in the posts somewhere (which means some people are not reading :D ). There is a trail coming in from Boston Bar and heading North East, ending up South of Cabin lake and joining up with Spius FSR and then up to Cabin. I don't know the condition of it, Martin is sure he was on it heading West but encoutered a trail that he didn't want to try solo. I don't know if it was this one or not. So, that said, I don't know the condition of the trail, on the maps, and google earth it looks fine, there is one section which is not visible due to trees and that might be the problem spot. If that fails then we will back track to Uztlius FSR and take that East until Spius and then up to Cabin Lake. There is my plan, those interested can meet me at Starbucks, Oxford & Lougheed in PoCo, at 08:00, or I will be meeting Marcin in Mission at the Shell on the East side around 09:00.
If anyone is running late call me 604.803.3506.
Robert is a maybe for Friday departure, and Sopel is a go, we'll pick him up on the way out to Misson.

Craig, take the pets with you, it'll make for interesting stories later :D
