So I got to thinking(dangerous), running 35's on the 2.5" medium lift. The first thing to address is the bump stops right? Don't you have to lower the stops on the 4" lift also. So really you get the same amount of "stuff" but more travel (due to the height). You get more travel down due to the longer L shocks. So can you run L shocks with a 2.5" to gain more downward travel and shouldn't they be ok under compression due to the drop in the bump stops?

there is can at times with the J shock and 2.5 lift the the coil could come out of the seat and drop. It would be a good thing to cage the spring if you were to do this. You would also have to extend the brake lines wth the J shock, as the extra droop will put stress on the brake line. Yes a 2 inch drop is nice, but not totally necessary. As what the drop blocks are for is to protect shock from over compressing on the taller lifts. If running tires/ roms combo that can tear off the flares or do damage to the skin then bump stoping is in order. Put the tires on you want then sort the stuff out later. It is all agrand experment any how, is it not. later robbie

I ran this setup for about 6 months, worked great. Install the shocks without the springs and jack the axle up to see how far to space the stops down. If your running big tires jack one side at a time with the tires on to simulate flex and check for tire rub, buy or fab bump stop spacers. Put the springs in and with the axle at full drop space the e-brake cable support and brake line or buy a longer line, in our case 1.5" worked great. The sway bar links or brackets and breather lines will need extending.

The brake line drop is 1" strap with holes 1.5" apart, the e-brake spacer is a piece of tube 1.5" long and a longer bolt.

The sway bar links were cut in half and a piece of .5" ID DOM welded over them, or just order the brackets from Slee.

Hi Guys,
I've been looking for a Good LC forum for some time now. I think I am in the right place now. About 6 months ago I picked up a 94 Cruiser and going with the good Toyota name I go in well over my head. This is my replacement for a "94" 4Runner that I was using to get back and forth to work and in and out of the woods when I Deerhunt. So far I had to replace the entire break system including rotors and some hardware. I go to say I'm hooked on the Cruiser's Beastly Attitude. I sometimes think that if I asked the truck to climb a tree it would do it. I getting ready to raise the Beast 2 1/2 inches with a Skyjacker Kit. If anyone has any advice on avoiding any problems please don't be shy. I'm also looking for something to replace my running boards which are pretty rusted and maybe starting to fall apart. I will ned some advice there. I have found that the company that manufactured them is no longer in business. Well that's all for now, I will definitely look forward to reading some of these postings.

Thanks for having me,
Rod

I've run 850/863 with L's for 4 years in the 80 and without issue and/or loss of a spring.

I run 863 and L's in the rearof my 100 and without issue, though I did retain the spring in the 100 because nobody had run this combo in the 100. Works great too.
