That looks a lot like a version of the bars I've seen here on JDM 80 series, quite common so maybe a Toyota factory option:

I've only seen them here on 80 series Landcruisers imported used from Japan. I'd guess Toyota made them but maybe there's a Japanese 4wd accessory manufacturer that made them. Check your nearest 4x4 dismantlers, you may may find something similar that can be modified to fit.

Amen to that. It's hard to make out how they are attached on the 70 in the above pic but if it's anything like the mount on the 80 in my pic they are worse than useless. A friend of mine with an 80 series that had something similar to these bars actually made a new steel bumper, then chopped the upper section out of the old bar & welded that on top which worked quite well, kept the nice matching lines of the bars around the lights but massively stronger as it was mounted straight out from the chassis.

Thanks guys! I'm looking at something that looks good aesthically only. Not really for bashing.
But will keep in mind that brush guard is a no no. And arb bumpers are better.
Photos really explains everything on reliability for those mounted on bumpers.

I'm asking $500. I had no idea what they were worth either. Last week I saw one for sale on eBay, though:

I'm going to hazard a guess that they are a JDM market product from JAOS, probably made for Toyota. Looks similar to many JAOS designs I've seen on imports in NZ and Aus.
