Went on off-roading yesterday, got stuck in sand, winched out.
Found front wheels r not engaged in 4X4 mode.
It is TLC KZJ71 with switch engagement for free wheel hub & 4H.
Indication in panel says it is engaged, 4L is also engaging through lever.
But when stuck in sand, then rear wheels were moving only.
Looked below the vehicle found that front shaft is rotating but wheels r not.

Front electric hubs brushes are worn/damaged or just dirty, possibly the control wires to the hubs are damaged.. Do a search on this website for electric hubs and you will get plenty of info on how they work and what the general problems are.
Just remember to locate the brushes back with a small pin when you put the hubs back together so you don't knock off the carbon brushes. (just like you do with an alternator)
Good trouble shooting and info.

Agreed.

Also consider converting to the AISIN manual hub locks. I threw the auto hubs away.

If the carbon brush's look OK ( but warn down a wee way )then a little pull outwards may help them to have a bit more pressure on to the slip ring. Use electrical grease, not mineral type.

Hub Locks

Dismantled the hub locks,
the left side bushes were bent & the slip ring had worn out. needs replacement,
shall search in market & do the needful.
Now question, right one was ok & the motor gear was spinning as reqd.
This hub lock should engage this wheel.
Will the 4X4 operative i.e. three wheels engaged or the defective hub lock should also work to engage the 4th wheel
else front wheels will not engage.

Or you can change the front axle for mannual switch except ratio....
