Doh.... you beat me to it.
Was set up to go this year. But the Scotland trip took over (and rightfully so). So I gifted my pass to another friend in LA. I'm still looking to make this trip happen next year. It coincides with Pliny the Younger release in Santa Rosa so i'll hit that up on the drive down or up depending on time.
That has been my plan for the last 2 years... .so hopefully the third time is the charm.
My friend who has raced the last 5 years is out this year. It has got prohibitively expensive to do it yourself without huge sponsors. So the little guy is pretty much gone from the event now.

@lt1fire Let me know maybe we can meet up out there! I think it was last year my dad followed as a chase truck in his 45 for a friend of his out there who races in the event.

Took me a second to remember who your dad is. Great guy there. Met him once out near pismo beach and again in SC at the build a 40 for a fallen soldier event Brian and I took part in as the ONSC contingent.
There is a big mud contingent that makes it out there. Woody brings his home on wheels and sets up a mud base camp from what i've heard.
Pismo is awesome and that was a great build I followed along with that and just seriously amazing to see how quick cruiser guys can come together to make it happen.
I was talking to him about it and I guess some guys missed this year I don’t think woody ended up going, but next year I’m trying to get out there for sure and camp for a few days

We have it playing in the shop today. Our driver is Vaughn Gittin Jr in the 4500 Bronco "Brocky". Someday I'll go!

It did have doors on when I saw it though.
It was on the screen for a few minutes before I realized what it was... mostly because I was just watching out of the corner of my eye.

just spotted the 80 in the live feed. looked grey or white but had the doors. Didn't look like it had a hood and fenders though. it was in the PIP vid so really couldn't get a close up.
That rig was totalled a while back so wont be making any more appearances....

Cool build thread on the race truck... I think I looked at that thread in its earlier stages last year but I don't go in the 80s section much anymore.
