I am building a trailer with a slide out kitchen and having a hard time deciding what side to have it on. What are your thoughts on it? i am leaning toward the passenger side.

Nearly all comercial built travel trailers put the door on the passenger side. I would assume so that if you had to access it on the side of the road, you would be on the safest side of the trailer.

Wouldn't the side the kitchen pulls out of depend on what side of your the trailer you were going to have the tenting on?
And if you wanted your kitchen inside the tenting, barring a RTT of course. Because Logic would dictate that for a RTT you would want your kitchen on the opposite side of your RTT so you don't burn down your tent.

My thoughts on passenger side were just that, most places are set up for pass side when I go into sites and for safety on a roadside although I probably wouldnt do much cooking then. The RTT will deploy either to the front or rear, not the side. I do have a ARB awning to cover the kitchen side though. Not too woried about fires though. There will be a fire extinguisher close of course. I will try to get some pics up. I am working on the framework today. I will also start a build thread soon.

Looking forward to your build. Mine will have a slide out kitchen as well. I am planning to put it on the passenger side as well as the entrance to the tent enclosure. the opposite side will be a fold out bunk.

I just ordered a Drifta DPOS trailer kitchen DRIFTA Camping Kitchens - Camping Trailer Kitchens
I went LHS to jive with my trailer and lid/RTT set up, which I hinged to open from the right (passenger side) in the event that I need to pull over and access the trailer,
I'm not hanging out into traffic. So the LHS DPOS pulls out of the back of the trailer left side and the return portion crosses the back.
The DPOS is actually a stand alone unit, so you can move it anywhere in your camp if you like.
I will post some pics of the set up once it arrives.

Which side of the vehicle does the serving wench sit on? No need to make her walk any further than absolutely necessary.

I do like the drifta stuff. I would get one but I will have to make mine to fit my space. On my pull out I will have the stove and counter space slide out from the bottom but sitting on top will be my removable kitchen. I would like to be able to pull it off and put it into the truck if Im not taking the trailer.

Luke can customize the kitchens within certain parameters. Mine is a custom DPOS, 3cm shaved off the height of the box to allow it to slide in under the top rail of my M101 trailer which I am leaving in tact for strength and lid sealing. See pic below.

I pit mine on the passenger side.....but I based it on the amount of campsites I visited in the last 20 years, and used that as criteria for location. Of course there is a few times it will not be the "right side"...but hopefully the trailer can be maneuvered to accommodate the change.

On a side note..70sguy..that Drifta stuff is really niiiiicce...good luck with it!

Why not set it up so you can move it anywhere you want.
Camp stoves on propane, boxes for utensils, all can be rigged up to be mobile with a little planning. I like the idea of even being able to un-snap it & move it somewhere else.

Kevin, thats exactly what I have been thinking. I will still have the drawer on the pax side but be able to pull a few clamps and move the chuck box and stove to a different location. This project is moving very slow so it allows me to re-design. As things move along, I will post some pics.
