Can someone chime it with the specific correct orientation for installing rears with piggybacks? I thought I had fixed an issue with what appears to be contact with the springs by facing the reservoirs towards the center of the vehicle (remote reservoirs are pointed towards the center row dome light). Now I am again seeing that the blue end-caps on the tops of the shocks are getting nicked up. I really wish these things came with mounting instructions seeing how much they cost.

I will post a better picture tomorrow of my Radflo's for you. I know it is hard to tell from the one I posted earlier in this thread.

Ask whoever you bought them from. The guys at just diffs should be able to help since they're running them.

Problem with that is Carl got the prototypes with extended hoses. I think he mounted his reservoirs behind the rear wheels along the frame.

Edit: Found his rear install pic.

Much appreciated!

I think I found another little issue with my install. I was told to tighten the top nuts until I saw the bushings bulge. I took this literally and the minute I noticed the bushings bulge outwards I stopped. At this setting I could only see one thread on top of the nut. With this amount of torque on the nut, I could easily turn the upper shock bodies by hand, thus turning the piggybacks. Maybe going off road with this setup enabled the shocks to turn in such a manner that they ended up coming into contact with the springs.

Today I torqued down the nuts on the rears until I could easily see bulging in the bushings. When I was finished you could see 5-6 treads on top of the nuts. Shocks now require two hands and a moderate amount of effort to turn. Hopefully after getting some guidance on the correct orientation of the piggybacks, I'll be able to put this issue behind me.

Those of you out there with shocks similar to these...With the vehicle fully weighted, how easy is it to grab the top portion of the rear shocks and rotate them?

Not to get way off topic, but how did you mount your reservoirs in the front? (pics?) Thanks

About like you describe since tightening your up more. Takes two hands.

Here are the pics of my Radflo's I promised. I hope these help. I have had no issues in this location.

^^^ IIWY I'd install another shock to remote spacer and band clamp at the top.

How close does that reservoir come to the LCA at full compression?

Thanks Dan. This is how they came from Glen and are solid as is.... But of course that is still a good suggestion.

Really close. the only way they fit is to rotate the remote forward so it "just misses" the LCA mounting bracket but not too far forward that it will hit the Sway Bar. The remotes on the Radflo's are huge! the only other option would be to order them with a different hose and mount the remote to the cross frame above... or a custom behind the axle mount like Spresso is running.

Here is a pretty good pic of the front. The fronts come with a mounting bracket that has three holes in it (the 3 arrows pointing up). I had to cut the bracket at a point directly to the right of the 2nd arrow (underneath the "K") in order not to throw off the alignment of my winch plate and bumper brackets. One bolt is holding the bracket in place presently. Dan and I exchanged some emails about potential issues with running larger tires with this setup so I am now thinking of moving the remote reservoirs over to where the red rectangle is. I think I may just get the supplied brackets welded to that location.

Thanks! That was extremely helpful.

No problem! Glad to help!

I have had one %^^& of a time getting my front Radflo's installed with no rub. I wont go into all the details. But, in the end I just went with spacers to resolve the problem. In regards to your picture above, you may still have issues in this location. I did. But, the Radflo remote looks to be almost a 3rd or 2 times the size of the King. If I were you, I would weld a small piece of angle to the upper and match what Dan did. That would be your best bet.

I know Fallon40 has his remotes mounted in the same orientation as your picture above and just told me today he had ZERO rubbing on a recent trip to the desert running a 295/75/16 tire like me. I dont really see how he isnt catching a hose or anything.... but it is working for him.

Saw this on a French website. I wonder if they would be of any use for the US crowd...doesn't look hard to make. Not sure about articulation though. I LOVE the diff guard...I wonder if that is bolt on or what. I would love some better pictures of it.

You would break that in about 3 seconds flat.....

Depends on the application. Those appear to be plastic. But they were designed for a Hdj100 rally car. They aren't as worried about crawling and then I agree you would probably break them. However it is pretty cool to see one of our rigs as a rally car.
