It's time to start planning for the 2017 KOHs event down in Johnson Valley!
The event starts on Feb-3rd and goes till Fri-10th. The group I have going on is aiming to head down on Tuesday/Wednesday (7th-8th) and stay possibly till Sunday/12th so we can do some wheeling Saturday/Sunday with no race going on!

So far I only have 1 other Toyota guy and want to get some more to join in. Come meet some new people to go wheeling with!

There's event volunteering opportunities available and that gets you in the volunteer only prize raffle.

My set up last year. We camped right along the race path, you can see the chopper chasing the main race leader on the pic!

I'm bringing my hotel along this time and wiling to share. One other guy is possibly bringing a bigger trailer as well.

I might be there this year, not committed yet but will keep in touch!

Hope you make it, it's a fun time for sure!

Im scheduled to go with my fab guy who goes ever year and this year he is taking his welding rig for mobile service. Looking forward to it

Mr. Phil, it would be a honor for a new comer like me to meet the legend!

I'm a spotter/wrench for a rockcrawl team and Justin Hall is a friend (4500 class) my driver has gone for years. Hoping to make it! My heart belongs in the SW
I'll keep you posted!

Cruise On!

I would be interested in joining if I can get the time off work!

I will be out there with my 60 (spectating) and would look forward to meeting some new faces. PM me with some contact info and I will try to hunt you down while I am there.

That's an awesome looking rig! Did you run in '16? I tried hard to shoot any cruiser on the course and would have to dig my photos but an orange 40 is there I'm sure!

That would be cool!

Always great to meet new faces! I'll send you some contact info later

Other than the TLCA, what organizations will also be attending in the event?

I would love to watch the King of Moto's as well one of these trips, however spanning the entire week is a stretch. Most likely I will be hosting my friends out there Thursday thru Sunday 'If the gods are good'.

Spectating a little of the Baja 1000 really got me fired up for KOH and the MINT 400.

Yeah, I'd like to be there for the king of the Motos too but 8 days is a huge stretch! This thing isn't in any way endorsed or sponsored by TLCA (that I know of) although I'm sure many members will be attending!

My rig is actually a FJ45. Yes I was there with this one in 15' and 16'. I raced my 1985 4runner for two years before that.(the one in my avatar) We will be out there for the week and racing in the 4500 class Every Man Challenge race on Thursday. I even have a celebrity co-driver this year by the name of "Woody". I am not sure where our pits will be this year but come by and look us up. Always good to meet other Cruiserheads.

Look for Matzell Motorsports

@LandCruiserPhil I agree, set up camp near the pits is just too much commotion all night! People do that so there's no need to drive when heading to main vendor/pit area but it gets so overcrowded is unbelievable!
The first pic I posted in the tread is from this past February when we decided to camp along the bottom of the last hill range! Only a few camping scattered around and much quieter! Also we were out of the crazy dust and right along the course (with a safe distance).
On the pics below it would be near the cc7 mark! We plan on going to the same spot. Still close enough so you could have a short drive or a medium walk to main mess!
Of course there's always the option of just going way out and far from everyone!

My plans (and life for all it matters) are changing a "little" bit! Still able to go and hang out but as of now I'm just not so sure what days I'll be able to spend at the event!
Work is taking another turn and our family will be heading back to Colorado comes end of feb/beg of march. My wife has to fly into Denver that sunday so I'd have to head home friday night or sometime saturday depending on what flights we find for her. Either way I'll still head down and share a beer or 2 and hang around the fire!

I'll be out there! I'm tagging along with a 4400 team. I have no idea yet if I'm going to be helping them or just trying to stay out of the way.

Hmmm...i'm about 90 minutes away. I like spectating out there, but no way I'm crawling the cruiser through any KOH trails! I tucked my tail last time I was there, but would be cool to meet some new Mud faces if a gathering forms. Sub'd
