I have king 2.5’s all around on my tundra, installed them December 2017 stock valving no rebuild yet. They are comfortable on the road and smooth high speed off-road and I love them, no problems with them I will probably rebuild em soon. Definitely worth the money

I had Fox (not correctly built for LC, by a company in CA), then BP-51 (Slee) and now King 2.5s (Filthy Motorsports). I like the Kings the best. The fox were built by guys who knew 4runners, but the LC's weight makes it a very different beast. It never felt controlled (especially the 2.0 rear - wrong choice!). Knowing what I know now, I probably could have gotten the 2.5 adj fronts to work w stiffer springs. The BP-51s were much much better than stock, but not as good as the Kings (or Icons I ran on a 5th gen 4runner). BPs are a solid upgrade, but I could never get them dialed correctly, especially at speed over 75mph and they sucked on washboard roads and dirt, compared to the kings or icons (not as smooth or controlled). I think they are probably good for stock weight, but seem to get overwhelmed quickly.

As for the Kings; I am running 2.5s w 700lb in the front currently and it is slightly over sprung (too stiff for just a bumper, no winch, single big battery). The control is very good and the feel when I hit a big bump/dip is great. However, at the very top end it feels unsettled (very slight, constant jittery bouncing). This is due to the fact that Ben built these for what I expected I'd have installed (including winch, dual batteries, etc), but then I pumped the breaks on the additional upgrades. In talking with Ben, I think going to a 650lb would solve this. However, I am in the middle of going a different route (Tundra IFS w the existing 700lb springs); hoping the extra lever arm length will make the 700s work perfectly. I plan to have the alignment done on Thursday, so stay tuned.

I am in contact with Filthy , are you running the 2.5 king lift with 2.5 front shock , I did see they do offer a 3.0 king . I’m waiting to hear back from Ben .
Ben did say the 3.0 would be over kill and more for desert racing , Icon offers there stage 6 with a 3.0 shock but only a 500 lb spring .
So based on you not running a winch with your bumper 700 lb might be a good stating point for me I have a TJM bumper on the way and 9000 warn .
Did you do the rear in King ?
I would like to get a Slee rear bumper once they get more inventory , I plan on going King in the rear also mostly the 2723 with that bumper .
Parts are slow and coming these days .
Thanks for the heads up on the other brand shocks you ran .

My understanding is king 3.0 is literally overkill. They are so capable that during normal use they won’t heat up enough to work correctly. A 2.5 should work better for all but the most crazy desert driving of us.
I’m running 600# springs in the front at pretty much stock weight, and they work great.

I am running adj resi 2.5s front and rear w/ 2722 OME rear springs. Currently the rear ride is pretty good, but again slightly oversprung. When I have a full load in the back, gear + 2 tween kids and 4 mt bikes on the platform rack, the rear ride quality is quite nice. I have a BumpIt Offroad (BIO) rear bumper on order, so we'll see what that does. May have to swap out for 2723.

Ive had BP51's... good mid range shocks, was happy with them, no complaints

Then i fitted King 3.0's.. WOW, what a differance... awesome setup but i did have some hoses rubbing and minor issues (like destroying a CV that damaged the bottom of a shock.

So i fitted my spare King 2.5's... VERY nice but i can feel the difference so with a full shock service, Changed the manual adjusters on the bypass rears to quick clickers and reduced the rebound a little and some valving tweeks... So they go back in soon.

Then.....

WOOOHOO

Great photo! Looks like an absolute blast. It sounds like you’re pretty thrilled with the kings but have you considered FOX 2.5? They aren’t well represented on this forum but they have harder pistons which can be the Achilles heal from flying rocks and I know you throw a lot at your 200. Just curious and learning as much as I can before buying my next set. I have ICON 3.0 stage 6 and they are fantastic but I know they have been plagued with issues and I’m sure it’s just a matter of time for me.

I had Fox 2.5 and HATED them; not nearly as composed or refined as my 2.5 Kings... but honestly I think the shock builders were 4Runner guys who didn't really know what big girls our trucks are. Kings are great shocks and Ben w Filthy is a suspension genius... so best combo available.

ICON's are a complete failure here in AU, The importer got the valving wrong, lengths all wrong, no warranty from Icon or the importer and design fauls meant that nobody supports the brand. Its a shame as i know they can be very good but on the 200, id keep the stock gear over getting ICON's. Fox has a consumer level range and the performance range and they are a long way apart in quality. Every so often someone imports some cheap consumer FOX's from the USA, all valved wrong (we have a heavy diesel and the weights are different) and they sell them, then disappear leaving ppl with no support. We have the same issues with the RAM's now too .
