Be searched and searched and haven't found anyone with recommendations on keyless entry with remote start for our 100 series. Anyone done it and have a recommendation?

I'm just over the lame distance and intermittent factory keyless.

Ha, I had the Autopage system in my 80. It comes with it's own little antenna that sits on the dash by the windshield. The distance you could start the truck from was insane, clear the heck across the parking lot. Had great features too, if you needed to run into a store and wanted to leave the truck idling, you hit the start button again and pulled out the keys. If someone got in and hit the brake to shift out of park, truck would die.

Checking out autopage...but definitely would have a pro wire this up for me.

I bought a Viper for my 4R, because it came without key-fobs and this seemed a better solution. After months of searching for instructions and downloading things, I started installing and decided I was in over my head. I bartered for help from a very experienced installer, learned some things, got it done. It's the cheaper Viper, doesn't do much, but I like it. I'd install the same on my LC if I had an excuse.

I bought my girlfriend a viper system, it was pretty basic, started the car opened the doors etc.. etc.. they made it so the horn honked when it opened / closed the door so that was nice. it was like 550 installed (boston install prices are pretty high i think) but it works great, distance is awesome and never fails. if a shop installs it they need to bypass the chip in your key so that'll add some bucks to the install price.

i was considering getting one for my car as well but as of now am sticking with the factory remote.

I have had good luck with Arctic Start.
It is worth paying a pro to do the installation.

Here in Anchorage, a good remote start costs about 300, plus about 200 for the install.

You might save some money trying to do-it-yourself, but mistakes result in parasitic draw on the battery and problems with starting your engine.

Again, it is worth it to pay somebody who does a lot of them to install it for you.
