Finally got my 05' transponder chip programmed. The info above apparently only applies to 03-04'. The 05' is a "D" chip. Here are the simple steps.

1. all doors closed
2. master key in and out of ignition 5 times, leave in on 5th time, no turning ever
3. open and close driver door 6 times, leave closed on 6th time
4. pull master key, get solid security light
5. insert new key, blinks for 60 seconds then goes out
6. pull key and open door to cancel mode
7. test new key

I have read the FAQ thread and still cannot get one key to work with the transponder. I tried the method of sequence I in the 1st post, which is also is the FAQ. On my 2004, the above was the only thing that actually showed promise up 'til a point. On step 5 above, after the solid security light from step 4, I entered the key but it never went out. The blinking is different than the security pattern, so I know it was in a "program" mode. I tried a couple of times and waited more than the 60 seconds. Does anyone have any info on what to do with an 03/04 at this point?

I have tried multiple times to program my key i gave up. This was after i bought a new case for it. When i feel like spending $150 for a new ill do it. 2001 lc. I followed the faq with no luck...

Yea, it appears to be hit and miss. And then they changed a lot. Throw in different models and the information posted online and who knows what will work....

I bought the keys off ebay and they came last week. Perfect timing, because when I went to start the truck today, the plastic piece broke, leaving the metal key itself in the ignition. Fortunately I was at home so I got some pliers to remove it. I took the keys to a locksmith who cut them for $10/each, but he said it may not work unless programmed. Right, I can do that, or not....

After swapping the transponder to the new ebay key that was cut, it worked like new. I am trying to get the other key that has never worked to sync with the truck. If no one else posts on how to do this by Monday, I will call my indy. If he can't do it, it's dealer time :(

Same here. The key in/key out sequence is the only one that put my 2005 into "programming mode". Unfortunately the eBay fob I bought did not "take" the programming as it just kept blinking a distinctly different pattern with the new key in, never went out, never programmed. I'm wondering if there is a technical difference between a "HYQ1512V - 4D 67 Chip" and a "HYQ1512V - 67 Chip" as in is the 4D part unique or is one eBay seller just listing it differently than another and the HYQ part is all that matters. The key I tried to use doesn't have a "4D" in the description.

I took mine to my indy Monday. They tried a few times with the Lexus reader but the key would not work, so I had to get a new one. Got it and it works flawlessly.

Let us know how that goes, I had trouble with that one (my locks are iffy).

ok got it to work.

so my locks were weak after the 3rd lock/unlock. i did it manually on the driver door.
this is how i did it.
close all doors and open the driver door.
using power door lock on driver side lock all door then manually unlock the driver door
put the remote key in and pull out
lock and unlock the driver door 5 cycle with you hand
close the door and open the door
lock and unlock the driver door 5 cycle with you hand
put the key in turn it "on" position then off and remove
the car should cycle a lock and unlock
press lock and unlock at the same time for 1 second. when releasing press lock again and hold it for 2 seconds.
close driver door and test the remote. i will try and get a video

Nice, thank you so much, I'll give this a shot since you've made it so clear and simple!

THANK YOU Lowbudgetlc100! this method worked great for me and now I have two new keys programmed. The Program Remote: (sequence E) where you use your door switch did not work for me, was getting frustrated, never thought to manually lock and unlock driver's door.

I did shoot a video...

glad it worked out and was able to help someone.

1999 LC - bought new keyfob blanks from Amazon. Transponder program went flawless. But I can't get the remote to register. I've followed the video & FAQ instructions to the letter. Any help? Locks never cycle at the end.

Instead of using the power locks, lock all of the doors and hand cycle the driver's door lock.

I was able to easily program my key for my 2005 LX470 (RFID) I purchased off Amazon. I had a broken key fob shell that I taped together and put new guts from the Amazon key. I figured since the blank already worked I would just use that since I only had one other key. Thanks!

Now programming the remote took a few more tries but I was successful after the 4 or 5th time... Getting the timing down was my hangup.
I used the 2003-4 protocol in the "Program Remote: (sequence I – 2003+)"

Thanks for the information!

Had to have local Auto locksmith program the valet key that I got on Ebay for $28 for my 2007 LX470. $25 to laser cut it and $35 to program it after I tried programming it using the different sequence methods listed here. It was interesting to see that he also tried the same steps listed in his manual without success and then had to get the orange box that I guess plugs into the OBD to program the new key.
Feel pretty good that I got it done for under $100.

This worked for my 2006 LX. I tried many other sequences before I found these instructions. Thanks! Local dealer here wanted $125 to program the key!?

Anyone have a good link to keys that will work. I have read too many bad reviews of keys on amazon to trust anyone. What are the links where you all found your keys.
