Anyone have a good link to keys that will work. I have read too many bad reviews of keys on amazon to trust anyone. What are the links where you all found your keys.

I think the LX key differs from the LC key. My LX key came from the Lexus dealer. Ordered over the phone with my Vin number and had it shipped to my house. I wanna say it was like over $200. It comes cut and with the transponder chip. I had originally bought a key from amazon for $25 or something. The local locksmiths wanted over $100 to cut the profile in the key. When I called around, some shops wouldn't cut the key. Those that said they would try, didn't guarantee that the key would work. So that's why I went the dealer route for the key.

I have had good luck with keys from Amazon for lexus 1998-2002 these have a 4C transponder chip. The keys I have bought for 2003-up I have not been able to add to the ECU because they all seem to come with the wrong chip.

If you plan on programming the keys yourself add them to the ecu before you have them cut. Techstream is the easiest way to add keys

I just ponied up the $60 and went to a local lock smith. I tried reprogramming with some of the techniques found here but they didn't work for me. I suspect it was the door actuators because they could not keep up with the open/close sequences. YMMV

I got this one for my 2001. I have not programmed it yet though. Got it cut for $10 at a locksmith, so $35 total. The biggest complaint is the range is 10-15 feet for the alarm/locks compared to OEM. I can live with that.

If you need a LX, I bought 2 of these Amazon.com: KeylessOption Keyless Entry Remote Control Car Key Fob Long Blade Replacement for HYQ1512V 4C (Pack of 2): Automotive They worked well too, but the inverted keys cost $50 to cut, that's the going rate and must be done by a locksmith.

All your key slots might be full. Easy to add and delete keys with Techstream.

I am trying to program a spare(brand new) key the PO gave to me when i bought my 99LC. They look exactly the same but i am not having any luck with getting the sequence to work. I did the steps of deleting all master keys except one and that seemed to work. The only thing i can think of is the key he gave me is for a 03 and up. Is that possible? Do they look exactly the same? I cant find anykind of numbers or anything on this new key. Let me know if you have any ideas.

There is a good chance it is the wrong key. The only way to check is with a transponder reader. The 99 should have a long blade though, while the 03+ have short blades.

The length is exactly the same. I had a locksmith cut it today.

This worked for my 2006 LX. I tried many other sequences before I found these instructions. Thanks! Local dealer here wanted $125 to program the key!?

The above sequence you quoted is to program the immobilizer. How did you program the remote to lock/unlock the doors. I've been trying everything listed here with no luck.

I can get into programming mode with solid red, but as others have stated, the new key will go into a new flashing sequence that won't go out. It flashes 2 rapid followed by a single.
Has anyone figured this out? Or do I have a bad transponder chip?

Do youou have a master key? Lx470 or Land Cruiser? If it is a LX then your new key probably came with the Toyota keytag which is a 4D-67 tp30. Lexus uses a Tp29 chip. This happens a lot with Amazon and Ebay keys. I have tp29 chips.

I don't have a tech stream. Do I need one to program or can just put your chip in key?
