stranded, engine turns but no fire. Noticed the blinking car/key on the dash flashing even though the key is in the ignition (original black key). Doors lock and unlock w key buttons etc but the chip part is not getting read.
Help! lol it's 100 degrees in Texas heat and I'm parked in the sun.

Is this another 20A EFI fuse problem? Appears fine but actually blown. Try pulling it and replacing with another 20A or the shorting link to see.
Hi thanks! I'll try that. Is it just the bladed fuse from under the hood? I'm on the streets without my manual.

Yep under the hood in the main fuse/relay box next to the battery. Should be a fuse location diagram on the inside of the cover.

You sir deserve a beer! If you are ever in Dallas TX pm me!
Problem solved!!!
Here's a look at my fuse

Thank very very very much!

And I kept on thinking it was the key. Wrong wrong thank God I didn't break the key in my attempt to technically tap it lol

I had this happen to me last summer. I found the problem by checking the fuses. The EFI fuse sort of said - check me and when I did it looked a lot fuse in the pic. What causes that?

Weird right? It looks rusted. But there's zero moisture in the fuse box and the seal looks perfect.

Very weird. I pulled in for gas, tried to start when I was done, and it just rolled over. I have my OBDII scanner with me and it looked like a fuel problem. The first thing to check was power. But the fuse looked fine so I almost didn't pull it.

Happened to me in April. Got the “kit” to bypass the efi fuse socket and have had no issues since.
