Key fob Locked in the Truck

I was out camping this weekend and somehow my key fob was locked in the truck. I’ve never had this problem before as the truck senses the fob inside the vehicle and won’t lock. But this weekend, I laid my keys on the console, closed the door, and when I went back - it was locked!

Anyone ever had this happen? Fortunately I had a spare in the camper and was able to resolve it fairly drama free. But thank god I keep a spare there.

I had a Chevy Tahoe do that to me at a car wash as it would auto lock after being parked for a few minutes. I just went and tried to lock the fob in my 2015 and it won’t do it unless the door is locked from the inside with the door closed. Maybe there is an auto lock feature that can be turned on?
