Hey All,
Haven't posted in a lot of years as my 100 has been a kid daily driver for the past few years and before that, work and young kids precluded me doing much overlanding.
Question: The 100K Maintenance it's due for and a few other upgrades to it is going to be maybe 5K on a truck that is probably only worth high teens. Sentimental value to me of course. Are there any "known gremlins" I should have checked out before I make this investment? I know of the water pump and timing belt (but mine was done 8 years ago at 69K miles?) but there may be others. I'm concerned with going through all of this and wishing I had traded it instead.
It only has had one "dead in the water" failure in the 19 years I've owned it: fuel pump went out.
I'm about to turn 50, and with kids older and have a virtual position now with a company I founded, I'm going to start overlanding again.
Thanks for the help, and if I should be redirected to somewhere this has been discussed, I'd appreciate it!
John
