On a side note my tire carrier is down at the shop getting sand blasted so I can refinish it and stop the rusting. Seems during manufacturing it wasn't prepped properly and after 2 years the coating was flaking off in large chucks. Not excited about that one.

Hate to ask this but can't help it. How much is that gonna set you back. Just sorta praying I don't need to do this any time soon. :whoops:

40.00 for the blasting, 27.20 for a pint of POR-15, and a can of paint that matches the original color. Not sure of that cost or the type as it's out in the garage from another project.

I've posted pics before of my bumper and people commented on the rust, well the tongue that the latch is on was completely rusted, not an inch of paint on it. Because it's under the tire I never realised the extent of the problem.

To make matters worse, I had a weather proof lock on the retainer for security. That thing, which had a cap protecting the barrel, was seized up. I had to use my 4" grinder to cut it off the truck. Talk about a recipe for a potential bad day.

When you get down to it there isn't much of a price difference between the Kaymar and Slee bumper.

The basic Kaymar with dual pivots runs about $820
Slee's bumper is around $950

Not much difference there.

All said and done I am very happy with my Kaymar...But I would really love to get a Slee one day.

The Slee you priced is less the tire carrier and does not have a spindle. The version with the carrier (#SOF1013) is $1,795.00

what about this bumper. It seems that the departure angle is really good, has a tire carrier and a gas can carrier. Looks pretty stout, but very $$$.
