There is a fairly good chance I will be headed to Sabetha KS at the end of June. If this does happen I was considering making it a week long trip and getting some wheeling in. From what I have been told it's roughly an hour to Topeka. Would anyone have any interest if it actually does happen?

The closest wheeling area would be Tuttle creek in Randolph, KS about 1.5 hrs away. I would guess there would be some club members up for meeting you for some wheeling post up some dates when you get them.

It is right at an hour to Topeka ( where I live ) from Sabetha. The closest official wheeling area is out by Manhattan. If you like mud and roads that have seemingly never been maintained then on the south side of Topeka out in the county there are several that I would not venture down alone. There is a tractor trail that will get you from Topeka to Carbondale that took well over an hour last time I ran it, it is probably much worse now. To the East there is an old river trail that runs from the town of Lecompton to just North of Lawrence. I would be interested if you and a couple others wanted to get together. I might even be able to do a little scouting beforehand.

That sounds about perfect. I will post up some dates as soon a single know them

Depending on dates, I'm always up for some wheeling close to home!

The only reason I can see someone visiting Sabetha, KS (besides family maybe) would be for equipment inspection at one of the manufacturing plants there. I work at the KC office of one of those plants, so just curious!

Small world, my family (mom's side) is from those parts, and still have a farm up there.

July.

Oh, the cool part of summer.

Kansas is not known for its' wheeling venues. Actually one of my coworkers is married to someone from Sabetha.

Everybody is right, Tuttle Creek over by Manhattan and poorly maintained county roads around the state are about the only choices for wheeling a Cruiser in Kansas.

The temps during late July early August will generally be in the high 90s to low 100s, make sure your AC is charged up. ;)
