Some autoshop tell me yes... other tell me no... and tell search system find nothing for my engine... ?

So, what is the K&N Filter code for the 3B engine (1985 BJ70)

why would you want to allow more dirt and dust into your engine, do a search and there are stats listed showing that K&N is not a good choice...
cheers
"opinionated on the subject"

So… what is the best recommendation

OEM, fram, napa, TRD ?

my recomendation?
go with cheap paper and replace it often, you can get them from Napa, parts source and other place... the cheapest i have found is $16 C and they seem to do a fine job...

I replaced mine with the TRD filter and man what a difference.. It was about 100 bucks but i would recommend it. It smoothed out the engine and it really gets me up the hills alot better. My old filter was quite dirty but i didn't expect that much difference.

TRD all the way

To late for me now. On my way home, I buy the NAPA one. F**k. Next time.

Anyway, my Cruiser will go for another 300 000 Km and more ! ;)

Protection vs performance really is a trade off. Drain your oil and yank the edic arm off and your truck will make the most power it ever has for a few minutes. ( oil starvation might be the science behind teflon oil additives )

I'm with Wayne on this one... Use a paper filter and change it as required. If you want to prove it to yourself wipe the 'filtered' part of your canister with a white cloth after a ten dusty miles with a stock filter and then again with a K&N.

K&Ns are perfect for boats.
