Down in Ft. Lauderdale fl. By the Evergaldes Port ( huge port) and saw 3 205 Series. It looked like it had solid axle and had the huge factory snorkels with the big pre-cleaner. There was 2 white and 1 black. Had the steel rims and real skinny mud terrains. Looked like it had a post on each side for a flag on the hood near the headlights.

Left my phone in my truck :( really wish I had it. They were beautiful!!!!

They were going to get armored up the guy said. But couldn't get real close to them.

No solid axle version, but they were probably the "poverty pack" versions that are more commonly armored. Sounds pretty cool!

lol. i coulda sworn it has a solid front axle man. I talked to a guy a few weeks ago from ARB and they said they are making a 205. its a modified 105 frame with a 200 body and engine in it. really a sweet looking rig! still hard to believe i saw one

Officially, at least, Toyota isn't making or offering a 200 series anywhere, but I think it's very possible that they could, in many markets the news that Toyota wouldn't have a straight axle 200 was *very* poorly received. I hope they reconsidered!

I know what you are saying about a SA, but IFS does have it's place...

Toyota believes their KDSS system makes up for it, just like they believe ATRAC makes up for lockers -- It doesn't in every situation.

Did you get close to them? because I honestly can't see a way to confuse an IFS set up with a solid axle if you could get close enough tot he truck to see al the details that he mentioned, maybe they are testing them?

A 205 version would be awesome (and very necessary in some markets).

Where do I send my order for a 205 diesel??

A lot of commentators in oz said that was what Toyota should have done. The old 105 series was as popular as hell here.
Fingers crossed;)

AZTRD...good to see another Uke on here!!! I love the trezub avatar! Where did you get that?

Toyota lost a fair bit of market share in the mining sector over here when they changed the 79 Series utes to the 70 Series - the mines started going for stuff with Airbags and there were reports that the V8 Diesels were not that popular for the underground work.

Also the lack of a "poverty pack" 200 was a bit of a disappointment as the starting price for the base GXL model was far too high for a lot of the LandCruiser customers in the rural and government sectors - all the police speed camera's are now in Mercedes vans.
