I just picked up a nice and clean 93 FZJ80 with 118k on it and a stack of very well kept records! Green Exterior (not my 1st choice) with nice grey leather interior.

The reason that the CDL switch was not installed by the factory is due to the Viscous Coupling in the center differential.

91-92 (including the later 100 series) doesn't have the viscous coupling, hence the CDL switch.

Nope - it was when they added the ABS, the '93-'94 FJZ80s with SF rear axles and drums have the VC and a CDL switch. The CDL deactivates the ABS ... which Toyota only thought you'd need in low range when the shifter activated the CDL automatically.

I would have left the front end damage and bought an ARB... most of it would have been hidden anyway. (Just a thought)
