So I was searching for some 3rd Gen info today and stumbled on the forum here and joined. Name is Mike and I live in CT. I have a 2002 SR5 Sport that my wife uses as her daily. It is currently up on stands in the garage due to the transmission dying 2 weeks ago on the interstate. I have ordered a new trans from Yota1 Performance in Cali and I am just waiting on it to be finished and shipped. I had just finished rebuilding the entire front end on the Runner when this happened so I am feeling a bit beaten down but she will rise again and be even better than before. She is almost at the 300,000 mile mark! I did the upper end of the engine back last winter. Also picked up a complete set of 2024 wheels and tires that someone took off their brand new Runner and never even used them for $750 and they pretty darn good on the 2002. Well that does it for now glad to be here.

Let me Welcome you to MUD officially :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:(official MUD welcome). You found a good place here, different people from different back rounds.
I also have a 3rd gen. which I gifted to my daughter who joined USAF after she graduated HS. That sucks that the trans. gave up but at 300k anything is possible my 3rd Gen. got an engine replacement at 245k but the rest of the drivetrain is all original and currently pushing close to 400k. She is not letting it go several people have offered her money for it and she just say NO. Is this a manual or automatic?

Two things ...

Second, it's a known failure for the radiator to leak coolant into the transmission. It's called the infamous pink milkshake. Make sure your radiator is sound.
