I’m frustrated. This alternator is slightly set back and I tried to shim the pilot forward to get the belt to line up and it’s just not right. Also when the engine is off I can turn the pilot and it turns no matter how tight I get it… it’s also maxed out on the tensioner. Look back in my previous posts and you can see photos etc. What’s a 1 wire alternator that everyone recommends? I’m thinking I have to just buy the right one… please provide a link

My recommendation would be to find an alternator (electric motor). repair shop in your area and see if they can get your fitment better.

Or go OEM.

This looks like after your shims?
This alignmemt does not look bad from the picture. I think you need to get a belt that is at least an inch or so shorter than what you currently have. That would give you more adjustment to tighten your belt.

I’ll give the shorter belt a shot. That’s a great idea

I would like to a proper fix on this.. I feel like I’m only rolling on a few threads on the nut that keeps the pulley on. Any recommendations on a new 1 wire and pulley or just pulley?
