Looks good, now drill and tap for air, man!!

I thought about that last night. But i'm thinking i need a steel fitting, drill the hole and weld it in place. Since both end caps are closed, there is nothing for the air fitting to grab on. I think i'm explaining this properly.

I'm going to finish cleaning up the welds tonight, then paint them black and install. Hope to try them out this weekend.

Drive over to Greenville, SC, and take a peek at my sliders. They've been there for a week. :(

Looking good!

What do you guys think about the center post and the gusset on it? I was running out of steel, so instead of cutting a triangle and welding it, we used a piece. I think it should hold up just fine. Comments?

Are these from George's design or did you fab your own? I have a friend working on fabbing me up some soon.

I noticed that right away. Kinda hard to judge how strong it is without seeing it in person, so it's your call.

Me, I'd cut a triangle and weld it in. But I'm always for overbuilding things.

Hopefully I'll be installing mine this weekend. And getting a Christmas tree. Sorry, can't make it.

You should go to Tom Sawyer's Christmas Trees in Glenville NC. I used to work there in the winter. You can choose and cut your own or have someone cut it for you. Still, good prices and really nice trees. IIRC you could get a 10' tree for $48.

Or I could cut 130 miles off that trip and go to the Farmer's Market and get one!

Yea, but Glenville is cool. All kinds of wheelin around there. Panther town is cool.

Hey, i'm stealing my own thread..........back to the sliders.

I was wondering when you were going to notice that.

We'll see how the day is going, might be a fun road trip.

What did you do for the cat-area mount?

Went under where the two cats come together. There are 4 captured nuts on the frame there. So you can mount a plate and then cut the outriggers to go under the cat. Check out this pic.

Excellent Job, as long as they fit!! :)

Did you suggest any alterations to George's plans and/or directions? I have printed his plans and read them about 5 times, I just need to source the appropriate steel. Funny how it's hard to spend quality time in the garage withe a 5 and 2 year old running around!

Is there any pros or cons to square steel stock vs the round stock?
or is it a matter of preferance?
