Thought I'd introduce myself as I may become a regular to the board. The name is Matt and I presently have a 96 LC with 51K miles. I'm thinking of selling the hanger queen and moving into the 100 series of cruisers.
After driving a 99, it's evident that quietness and smoothness of ride is miles ahead of the 80 series. The V8 is smoother and more powerful than the stock 4.5 could ever dream to be. Although my taste prefers the body style of the 80, the 100 beats it in every other way. For me hardcore wheeling is not an issue as I reside in Florida where deep mud, sand and water are the norms. Not the preferred habitat for most cruisers.
I understand that traction control and rear diff lock were available in certain years. Do you guys view this as a desirable option, if so, which years. Can the presence of these options be determined by serial #.
Second and most important can anyone provide me with a detailed pre buy inspection list. Weak points, cabin leaks, anything mechanical. Any areas prone to rust?
What would be a fair price for a 99-00 with 30- 40K
Thanks in advance for your contributions.
