I was going to invite all you guys to my new proporty but that got ruined:crybaby:

even I won't poke fun at this one
I think Dan needs to go wheeling with us and we need to supply him free beer for the weekend

I am in for a trip but if one of our members needs a hand that may be more important, keep us informed.

Thanks guys,

Im good And Marie is good. Knowone is dead ar dying or anything like that

Lets just say when you buy your dream home Log house ,1300sqft shop, on 24 acres and have that taken away from you 5 days before posession, its a little discouraging. Ohh ya our other house in town is all packed up with nowhere to move it to:bang:

I'm out. I'm going to take the girls to Invermere to party with their Aunt, (she has a cabin and boat) unless some are coming that way, in which case we could explore the Eastern side of the Kootenays.

Good Advice -- lets go wheeling and bring Dan beer

Bill, last I heard/read was that the Tyaughton fire was contained and burning off until it dies. I am good to go for the weekend but was planning to hit the Whipsaw with Steve if he's still planning to go.

Mike McT. was talking about a fishing trip to ??I forget where?? during July long wknd.

I'm going by EBI today so, I'll confirm with Steve if he's still going.

suggestions

I'm game to go somewhere, not Whipsaw just now, but somewhere good. Is that fire still burning up by Lillooet? Who is still into going somewhere?

Tyaughton Lake fire has a road restriction on the Marshall Lk rd (north of Anderson Lake) to the Mud Rd / Noax Rd junction restricted for residents, fire fighters only. The Yalakom FSR does not appear affected so there is still a way into Swartz and Mud Lake area, which is north of the fir area. Wildfires of Note - Protection Branch - Ministry of Forests and Range - Province of British Columbia

couple of suggestions

1) Windy Ridge from the Mud Lake side (via Yalakom).

2) Placer Mountain (east of Manning Park), See old trip report Placer Lake Camping Trip . Looks like a maze of ATV trails in the area. It could link to the Ashnola FSR which shirts along the nothern boundary of Cathedral Prov Park and comes out west of Keremos.

The summer is short.

3) Add to that up Pike and Elephant mountains north of Princeton. Lots of nice FS Rec sites and lots of lakes and trails to explore. Access to the east side is either via Elephant mountain off the second bridge N of Princeton. Only downer is the Hells Angel's summer club house on Pike Mnt at McDermid LK. Again, its a big mountain and you don't have to even get close to them. There is a road or two off the western backside which takes you down into the Otter Valley. Or you could stay up on the powerline / gas line (not all the gasline road is passable) all the way to the Connector.

4) Copper Mountain via Sterling Creek has a lot of trails to explore as well, especially if you do the Ashenola Traverse.

5) Again near Hedley, you have the roads up and around Nickleplate and over to Penticton.

6) Lamount Creek into Granite Creek use to be an interesting drive. Haven't been on it for many years now. Could be a pin striper or a gravel super hwy.

7) Sunday Summit west has some interesting trails and there is a small hike in lake. I can't remember the name now but it should be in the backroader.
