Just wanted to go ahead and extend an invite to our northern brethren to come join Upstate Cruisers for a extended weekend trip to Cullowhee NC, for some of the most spectacular and senic wheeling NC has to offer. It is truly a trip not to be missed :D.

It will be Fri. - Sun. July 21-23....... It will be an expidetion type trail ride with a different camp spot evey night and traversing roughly 40 miles of easy to moderate (at best) trails. Going from 6,000ft open balds to nice cool river valleys below. It is a trip that offers it all and is easily done by a stock cruiser.........

So please post up here if you want to come and also keep an eye on the SC section of mud for a thread soon to come with more specific info.

here are some pics from a previous trip in March:

I would LOVE to come, but the Hubby has to work weekends in July.. :( Not sure I am ready to take the Cruiser out on my own. For that matter not sure hubby would let me take the cruiser without him.. ;)

Thanks for making ONSC aware JP. I'll buy you a PBR at camp. :grinpimp:

This is an awesome trip folks. We went 3 times in March alone.

For those that want to take part in a scenic and fun, low key group ride - this is it!!! And, it's in NC to boot!!

sounds like I might need to schedule a few days off....looks like just the right type of trip for us.

you know if your still needing a windshield frame I could possibly bring you one..... just a thought. :D

Is this a "round trip" type exepdition? Is there somewhere safe to leave truck and trailer? I just replaced a $90 electric fan motor in my SUA FJ60 from playing in the mud and water so it officially doesn't like water until I get it off of the stock suspension. Towing the 40 is an option, driving it is not.

Can someone supply some directions or general vicinity map?

Thanks,

And that's the weekend before we go to the beach for Mustang week. gonna have to get with the boss on this one. But sounds like a heck of a trip. Where exactly is Cullowhee?

Tym......... it will be a round trip, there will be a place to store your truck and trailer....... is your 40 street able, because at some point you would mostl likely have to drive a few miles via road to get back to your trailor, given this wouldn't be highway driving rather slow windy mountain back roads........

use mapquest.com and type in Cullowhee, NC and that should give you an idea of travel time.

here is a map to help give everyone an idea of location...... it is in WNC just west of
Asheville :http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.ad...lowhee&state=NC&zipcode=&country=US&geodiff=1

I hope to be there. I'm trying to convince another 4Runner friend to come with me.

:bounce: :bounce2:I really hope some of the ONSC folks can make this one. It's far enough out that planning shouldn't be an issue. :bounce2: :bounce:

This is an awesome ride not far from Asheville and a great group gathering. Good fellowship, trail time, cruiser talk, camp food & and the great outdoors in the NC high country in late July - what else could you ask for???

I'll be happy to meet up on the way and lead a caravan for people who haven't been. I'll be heading that way on Friday.

Let me know.

Here are a few good teaser pics from one of the recent trips:

I myself would love to but funds are just too tight right now. Guess i need to get off my butt one day and get a job.

Ya right..

Hubby and I are working on going.

Well since we sold the truck, and all we have left are Mustangs... I think we will be driving it. That is what we are trying to work out...
