Meeting Reminder for July 6th. We're going to try the Slopes BBQ in Sandy Springs again.

We're seeing a lot of new guys lately and that's GREAT, please keep 'em coming. So...I'd like to do a tech talk at the next meeting geared toward the "New Guy" if anyone would like to volunteer.

I'm thinking we can do a review of:

Trail Reviews--How to "read" a trail
Rig/Truck preperation
Recovery Gear (both required and desired)
Hit upon responsible wheeling
Trail Communications
etc...

One of you "more seasoned" guys should give the talk, it would be much appreciated. :flipoff2::flipoff2:

You may want to check with Jack. He had collected several from a few years back (6 maybe 7 when I last partcipated) that he was going to load onto the chapter website. One I did on truck prep for trail use was included in the collection which comes close to matching your outline. However, I will be at CMCC on the 6th so one of the many alternates available would need to brief it.

Good luck and it is nice to see good ideas resurface.

appreciate it. I have the documents and information but don't want to just hand out the paperwork only to find it in a trashcan by the front door. I am hoping for something more interactive with a Q&A type of presentation. Example: not everyone knows about losing sight of the truck behind you. That's the kind of stuff I'd like to review b/c it can be very helpful when implemented properly.

You are describing what I was suggesting. My assumption was that you would pull up the powerpoint from a laptop, project it on the wall then brief the pictures & bullets where you and the audience wanted to go.

If you get some of the old tech talks, they probably have the majority of what you want, so with a little rework you could be jump started with a series of tech topics that may last several meeting. This could give you time and feed back towards creating additional topics for coming months.

I have a tech talk for the new people I can do if no one else has anything Ted. I will talk you about it Saturday.
