Buzzard's Roost looks awesome! Can someone PM me the coordinates for that place?

I think rob has them.

Johnny, it is just on the other side of I40 as we came out on Cold Springs Creek Rd. Instead of turning left to get onto 40 you go straight and never turn off! You just have to have an eye for the paint on the tree signifying the trail down to the lookout.

FYI - serpentine belt was incorrectly installed.
Reinstalled, adjusted, engine now running cool

Hope you guys enjoyed the brownies and cookies :) See you on the next one.

Good to hear James.

Glad that you guys had a good time! Getting away to the mountains is always good :)

Brownies were tasty....didn't get a cookie but we weren't hurting for food! Any update on Biscuit this week?

Great pictures, so sorry I couldnt make it, and so glad I coudln't make it. Would have been a problem truck pissing coolant.... Buzzard Roost, never been there, would like to see that!

The roost is nice and there used to be a bunch of trails above it. Unfortunately radio road has been gated at the top and the mud pits have gotten too big going down to the river but there is still easy/fun Passage through to next exit in 40

As I'm driving home Sunday from our wonderful weekend, my son in law sends me this pic of his/my daughter's newly purchased 62 taking the space of our 80 in the garage (theirs is the blue/gray).....they have just moved in with us after 2 months of marriage/living in a tiny house to save $ for a house and to pay for their honeymoon baby! My response was "Negative Ghost rider, the garage is full!" He comprendo'd

You have 3 Cruisers and a 3 car garage? Jerk. ;) And a daughter and son-in-law with a Cruiser. Geeze.

You wouldn't be looking to adopt a 50-something couple, would you?

My family enjoyed your post!......with your sweet cooking skills and experience with 80's, we'd adopt you & the Mrs.! I don't think you will enjoy it once the baby comes! There is also 2 dogs and a rabbit running around! Parking is also quite a challenge with 7 cars, 5 drivers....looking to sell our Avalon soon.

Thank you to everyone for your part in yet another fun adventure and @jamesurq, I am very sorry for the problems you had with your 60.

HUGE thanks to @gaap master for plotting out our routes. Your efforts really paid off as we were able to cover a lot of ground.

I am still disappointed that we were not able to take advantage of the swimming hole after lunch on Saturday but am glad (and not at all surprised) that everyone made the best of the situation. Had they had wetter weather in the days preceding I would have pushed for us to visit that second waterfall near Harmon Den but Buzzard's Roost was certainly a better use of our time.

This was Allison's first time camping without her mom and sister and she had a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone for the part they played in helping me make these memories with her.

Below are some photos of the trip. I have more to sort through and will post the better ones as time allows.

Oh, What a Feeling! Toyota!

Rafael and his work crew taking a break from the construction of the Osuna Hydroelectric Dam. Unfortunately, as no impact study had been prepared and the TVA had not approved the plans or location, authorities were subsequently dispatched to tear down the dam.

Eric and James gladly supervised the dam workers and enjoyed the cool rising waters.

Are you talking about the swimming hole in Martha Sundquist? Or this one since you were so close to it when visiting Buzzard's Roost?

Oooo, what's that swimming hole called?

That's Midnight Hole, off of Big Creek. The other side of Hurricane Creek. This will be a destination in next weeks HC trip. I just have to figure out the dog issue (not allowed), as it's a shared horse trail to get there.

Yes, I was referring to the one in Martha Sundquist. A group decided to lay claim to the unofficial campsites by the swimming hole for the entire summer (left their shelters, tents, four cords of wood and a port-a-potty and then blocked access by felling a tree across the road). Had I known about the swimming hole in your picture, I would have tried to fit it into our schedule. Please be sure to pass along the details in the thread for your trip.
