Has anyone put Light Racing's JounceShocks on a well outfitted expedition vehicle?

I have them on both my vehicles and the are simply amazing. I know that increasing ride height is not the best idea for heavily loaded expedition vehicles but increasing lead carying capacity and durability are. I will be building our 4-Runner into an expedition/family camping vehicle. So far I only have the Jounceshocks on the back but they work great for when I have the family, dogs and camping trailer loaded up. THe best part is when the vehicle isn't loaded it still rides smooth like stock.

they're bumpstops, are you saying when your loaded
down you're riding on the jounce shocks?

That's the way I read it, too.:whoops:

You read correctly, when the 4-Runner is heavily loaded it rides on the JounceShocks. The JounceShocks can be used as a secondary suspension, like a helper spring, an overload leaf, or an airbag. They work a lot better than other secondary suspensions though because the damping is increased as well as the spring rate when you are riding on them. I'm telling you, this is a great modification for a vehicle that is driven on rough roads with a heavy load. This seems like a great description of an expedition vehicle.

if you're on the jounceshocks when your rig is fully loaded your driving a rig with less
than 3" of up travel. in my mind that's not the description of a great expedition vehicle...

I agree, if I was going to travel long distances continually loaded I would increase that main spring rate and gain some ride height. It does, however, work well for a dual purpose vehicle that you want to be able to carry heavier loads occasionally. To be sure it rides a lot better than it did in original form when having a similar load meant riding on the bump stops!

At any rate I was mostly curious to see if anyone else had used them and what their thoughts were...
