Mostly torn down

Got the tub and frame separated.
Got most of the stuff off the frame, still a few things to remove before cleanup.

Looks like a prime candidate for the floor out of a wrecked pick-up bed to be used for the new floor.

Replace those tiny c-clamps! JK

Cant believe how straight the tub looks now. Nice work

Yes sir, liking your idea....

I'm gonna fab my trailer build after this model trailer. Plan on using 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 rect tubing for a bumper, .1875 or .250 wall. I have both in the shop now waiting my decision. If you buy a Fj40 get a seperate set of taillights and recess them into the bumper tubing.

I've seen a couple here on MUD and running down the road and I like the look and the extra protection for the rear.

New Toy

Being laid-off has it's advantages and disadvantages. Either I have the time, or the money, but never both it seems.
The other delay with the trailer work has been this damn thing

Brand new to me 1969 FJ40. Managed to trade a guy straight across for my old boat. I don't know how anyone else would have felt about the deal, but I feel pretty damn good. So even though I did put the cart before the horse.....

I like it all, trailer and FJ40! The good thing is, your colour options are wide open now. That rear bumper looks like an easy upgrade for a new trailer hitch too..

Back on its own two wheels!!!

Got the frame done put the wheels on and mounted the tub temporarily. Working on the floor and sides now. Have a lot of work to do here.

No. I am ready to get to work though. Know of something specific?

P, I might in a week or two... Long term easy work. Have to put up with me again though .... HA! But, it'll be in Texas for the next 2 to 3 years..

Making good progress on the trailer, keep it up. Hows the 40 running?

Tailgate

I wanted to help the tub keep its shape and have a tailgate for quick access to whatever. So here is what I came up with.

Painting

Getting tired of all the body work. I got all the holes patched. I think. It's to the point that I am going to paint it. It is far from perfect, but it is a lot straighter than it was when I got it. Slightly more solid also. I am going to try a color on it and see if I like it. It's the color I want to paint the 40 eventually. We will see how it looks. I will post up some pics later tonight. I think I will use some Herculiner on the inside once tghe paint and the rest of the fab is done. I still need to fab up some fenders, and possibly some sliders. Think I will take a nap....
