Good point First Toyota. The manual suggests you only give a valet the actual key insert but that presupposes you have the fob - which in turn negates the point of the watch. Maybe there is a work- around but can't see it. Last thing you'd do is say "here, take my watch and park this sucker"

OK, I called Toyota Parts (Kyohan) first and then a Toyota dealer about the watch.

They told me that they would have to program the vehicle when you purchase the watch, which obviously could not done by an average Joe.

Let me know if there are any specifics that I might be able to find out for you though...

Seems like there is more and more plastic on the cruisers, toys and smoke and mirrors.Where is new technology for 4-4 and gas conservation or improvement? Excellent mall car but is that Land Cruisers history? Is that its future in the Developed countries? Why can,t we get the cruisers that go to Africa and Asia? 2 cents MIke

Mot,

I think the question then would be if the instructions come in English and if a Toyota dealer in the States have the tools to do the programming. Any chance you could find out about the instructions and the tools required? Would they sell the watch to a US customer, or to a local customer without instaling it? Any chance you could also find out if the RF frequencies are the same? Thanks a LOT in advance,

-Ken

Ken,

I'm sure the instruction would not come in English.

If it's not too complicated or too long I could even translate it for you, BUT I am not certain if Toyota would be willing to let someone outside of their company take a look (or photocopy) it!

I imagine/ass-u-me they would sell me/you the watch w/o having a title, etc... though.

I'll see what I can find out from them though, but don't hold your breath! ;)

How about today? :hillbilly:

I imagined that some of these items would be available in the US.

Let me know if there are some specific items that some of you might be interested in. I would be happy to help! :grinpimp:

How much would it be to ship a RH drive 200 to my door? :hhmm: I have such a chubby for these trucks. Next time I'm in Japan we have to get together. I would love to see your trails!

BTW I found rear doors from a JDM police truck trying to work out a deal on them. That means I will be looking for that part I PM'd you about sooner than later... Domo arigato for all that you do for our community!

Hi Mot,

I imported/own a Japanese (JDM) 2008 Land Cruiser and need to modify/change its Nav/Audio system's language (both voice and OSD text) from Japanese to English and hope you can assist with this as I tried every possible option, contacting similar (RHD, English speaking) markets; Australia, New Zealand, South Africa….. without luck;

Basically, I would like to know; can the system be modified via software and/or part replacement, otherwise, are there other solutions that Toyota JP can offer?
The actual navigation part itself isn't very important to me but was wondering if everything else on the head unit can be converted to English.

I noticed earlier discussions on access control via the Toyota watch; do you think that it would be easier to get one for my LC as it is a JDM model?

I'm also interested in the Toyota Alloy Nudge Bar that is both Parking Assist (cameras/sensors) and Airbag compatible, If it is too much trouble, can you assist with putting me onto the right contact/personnel that can help with this please?

I would appreciate any input you can offer.
MD
