J-Robs truck saga

I don't know of anyone making glass hoods for 80's yet - doubt they ever will.

I was lucky enough to buy Kowboys extra holeshot hood like the one on my 40 but it ain't goin' nowhere. I'm sure I'll need it sooner or later. I already tore one of the glass fenders off my hood and had the pleasure of repairing that damage. Any worse and I would have just replaced the whole thing.

A split hood would work on James's truck but it might not be what he wants. I didn't think the damage was that bad on the one he has. I think I could bang it out fairly close. Nothing lost in trying right?

I agree with daryl. Banging it out is got to be cheaper than getting one, then having it painted.

I am gonna and bang it out, but after looking at it, it is gonna tough. The center crease is pretty much fubar.

I'm telling you, paintless dent guys can do amazing things. Cheap too, especially if you took the hood off and let them do it on the side.

Paintless dent removal don't work on 40 sheet metal.

Is it too thick to bend back out? Please esplain

I think so. Besides, paintless dent is only the cheaper choice when you don't have to paint your junk. JRob is gonna have to paint that boo boo.

:mad:getting metaltech fenders and a hood. my paint guy is going to paint it, if I do all the body work and sand it.

Replacing beats fixing! As the old saying goes, "There's no substitute for cubic [strike]inches[/strike] dollars!"

He's got the Metal Tech hoop that will do the same thing. He just needs to install the most important part.

I gonna put the hoop on when I install the fenders
