BTW, you do not need that dust cover to run it. It won't protect much in the way of a rock hit anyway.
i say just get a skid plate to protect everything underneath including your flywheel. dust cover will just keep some of the dirt out .

Looks great Jrob! FWIW I'd cut those shock boots off if you are going to spend any time in the mud/water. All they do is trap moisture and cause rust on the shaft (I hate rust on the shaft;p)

lubeurderm or jerkins hand lotion can also prevent rust on the shaft
Is the muffler tucked high enough? Hard to tell from the pics.
That area does not catch rocks on a 40 unless you REALLY get fouled up. It will be fine there even if it hangs down some.
