Our house in Cottonwood has been on the market for 3 weeks now. But I got a job offer down there, and they want me to start ASAP, so we're not waiting for it to sell to move.

As soon as we find an affordable apartment that's on the West side, takes big dogs, and isn't in the ghetto, we're there! We'll be seeking that out in person this weekend.

If all goes well, I'll be starting my new job on the 15th. My GF has been down there for a couple weeks already, while I've been up here tending to the kiddo and the house. It'll be nice to have the whole fam damnly together again. :D

So heck, maybe I'll even make it to the May or June Sonic meet! :bounce:

Congrats~ Just as it reaches 100 degrees! :grinpimp:

One thought for you though- Look into renting a house. Everyone decided it would be good to buy investment properties and rent them out when the market was white hot. Now that it's cooled a bit, people are hurting when it comes to filling all the houses.

In a lot of cases, you can rent a house for less than your mortgage would be. You'll have better luck getting a place that accepts dogs as well.

Good luck!

second on looking at house rental. oh and welcome to the big city, pollution and all.

p.m. me about your house, may be interested.

Thanks y'all. :D Perfect timing, right? Man I need to get that AC serviced and window fixed, ASAP.

We're looking into house rentals too, but a lot of them are really high dollar! Or, like the apartments, expect a ridiculous amount in deposits, don't take pets, or are on the East side.

I did find a possibility in Surprise. Waiting to see if they'll take a 6 month lease. We're gonna look around at some places in person this weekend. *fingers crossed* This'll probably actually work better, give us some more time for the market to cool off, and for us to find just the right place.

RHINO, I'll PM ya the MLS listing shortly.

Woohoo! Now we gotta hit up dat bar on the West Side.
Where's Cantinero?

I'm here Amigo. Just working a ton these days with the new position at work... but I can always get my arm twisted ya know. Jami and I were thinking this weekend about doing Cinco de Mayo there, but who knows. HJ, let me know if you guys are up for it, and you too Scout if your up for beers on Friday night? BTW, welcome to the Westside!

HJ, I'm still in for Mexico on the 9th, but that could change quickly. Is this trip still on??

Cantinero:beer:

Yesterday we put a deposit on an apt on N 67th Ave in Glendale for a 6 month lease. We'll be moving in next weekend!

Thanks for the invite y'all, but we won't be down there just yet.:frown: Instead, we'll be busily packing, and trying to fix my passenger side window (it's stuck DOWN). Joy.

What bar are you talking about, btw? I'm always looking for a cool place for a brew.

Power Windows gotta love 'em. LCPhil helped me with mine a few weeks back. Mine were stuck in the up position. Gotta love that, huh. No drive thru windows, the heat, on & on... Is it off the track? Do you hear the motor running?

Wow, you are right around the corner from us Scout. We are at 67th & Peoria just a couple of miles north of you. The bar is at 59th & Peoria, it is called Shabangs. When you gals get settled in post up and we will go kill some limes and the cervezas that go with them. Maybe we can talk Rhino into making an appearance since he is right down the road as well.

I don't know. I tried to take the panel off and have a look. Got the panel mostly off, but it was stuck at the very top. Seems like the wiring was really tight (absolutely no slack), and I couldn't disconnect them.

So I tore off the plastic lining and poked around inside the door the best I could. Seems the regulator arms are on the track, but I couldn't look high enough up in the door to see if the window was. I just sprayed some WD40 on everything and hoped for the best. Obviously that didn't work.

Sometimes I hear motor, sometimes I don't. But I guess when I don't, that just means the foil fell out of my window lock switch. :hillbilly: I have a new motor ready to go from cdan when he gets back from CM, but I wanna make absolutely sure that the one I have is shot first.

I'll pencll yas in for beers. I know after this whole process is completed I'm going to be soooooo overdue!!

Just hit the motor in question with 12volts directly if it does not move reverse the wires and if it still does not move there is about a 98% chance you need a new one.

Side note: I will be holding your CSC membership package until I hear from you

I have a spare master switch in pretty decent shape. All the switches work, the only thing is that the manual switch for the driver's side window sometimes sticks in the down position, but will release as soon as you touch it. The auto function works fine. I could let it go at a fraction of what they cost even used. That is if you want to replace your master control. It's gray, so if that matches your interior and you want it let me know. At least you won't be jumping the lock switch anymore.

The wiring is really tight. There is a clip that holds it in place behind the door panel just below the door latch in the center of the door for starters. The wiring harness should slip out of that because it is U-shaped. Once it is free you should be able to lift the base of the panel out more at the bottom of the door. At this point you should be able to reach in and get a little more slack in the wiring by pulling on it and guiding the clips past the acess hole in the door. Once you've done that you can lift the inner door panel on up and out. It will catch a little towards the front of the door panel I've found, also make sure your lock is in the down position, but it should come free with a little coaxing. Then you should be able to drop it on down and unplug the harness from the inner door panel. Hope that helps.

Well the motor is defiitely dead. Dan's crew is sending out a new one today, so I should get it some time this week. I'm gonna ask my buddy Bill to install it.

I might take ya up on that panel, D. But it's a bit further down on the LC to do list, as it still basically functions. I'm also thinking of just replacing it with some aftermarket switches. I dunno yet.

That's cool scout. I'm not sure what kind of aftermarket switches your talking about; I wish I would have had that info before my purchase.

Side note: Looks like Jami and I might be buying a house soon as well, and I might be selling off most of the original OEM parts I have on hand so I don't have to move them. Most of them are from an '88 fj62 gray interior LC.

I'll post up here local first, before ebay & the mud sections.

D

Ooooohh parts!!!! I'll be watching this space. :salivate: And a pre-emptive congrats on your future home ownership. :D

And I was wrong about that motor from Dan. I had confused the motor with the regulator -- well, I thought it was all one unit. I guess it isn't. A regulator is just the arms, and costs about $90. Just the motor is around $300!!

We're gonna try and just wrangle the window into the up position and leave it there. Maybe later, swap the rear R window motor for the front R motor.

As for aftermarket switches, I was thinking something like this:

I have yet to find one that has the 4 window switches + window lock + door lock configuration. So I may dump the window lock switch.

Alternately, I'm told that you can just pick up individual generic switches, and then have someone fab up a panel for them.
