How would you go about doing that?

The insulating or air cleaner service?

Either way not sure you could do much for the insulation of the supercharger and intakethe way it is or wether it would be an advantage. I can tell you it must get really hot where the stock intake tube goes because the used one I bought from you at the swap meet was like butter compared to my original one. It was like a piece of fine china I was afraid to drop.

You probably know about the service stuff, but I wasn't aware of the tuna can (thats what it looks like) and air cleaner service until reading about here on mud. The tuna-can can be unclipped from the bottom of the air cleaner box and collects fine dust and dirt, the factory air cleaner can be cleaned, with instruction right on it. That is if it wasn't replaced by the prior owner with a $10 special from the parts bin like the one I had.

uh yeah sorry for not clarifying.... I was talking more about the insulation process. I've seen a few ideas out there. One of which I've seen in person and has a very similar set up as mine (sc'd,dual batt, snorkel) but has some crazy ceramic coatings and louvers (yeah you Sam) and runs in the 180s where I was 195. I'm kinda leaning that way.

While installing my snorkel- I cleaned the airbox including the "tuna can" . The filter seems under sized and dirty but the guy who over looked my labor, had seen lots of LC air filters and said it was ok.
Glad that intake hose worked out for ya.

weekend bordem + too much paint in the garage =....

I had some extra time on my hands this past Sunday and started cleaning the garage (I'm selling a whole bunch on stuff that isn't being used or has been forgotten. ) and stumbled upon some old cans of paint - but I already have tons of paint for all surfaces. So I started looking for things to paint - I finished a few items and started looking for more. My grill caught by eye - the rest is history. After removing it and spraying it once, I pulled out all my old emblems and started preparing them (they were originally gold) for a fresh coat of high heat black.
Also, I moved my license plate to the DS to help with airflow and cooler temps now that spring and warmer weather is ahead.

Representin'

I'm not sure what it is about my generation and stickers - I have never put a sticker on any of my vehicles, until now. Its like the "final touch" or the "last screw" of a project. I think my favorite is the ih8 sticker as I have already seen people trying to work out what it means. Anyway, here they are...

I can't tell you enough how lucky you are to own that new beast, my evening was consumed by v8 swap videos. IMO Kirk's LS2 is the ultimate! I WILL own a LS2 80 - its on the bucket list!

What's the story behind the 70 series cruiser in the background?

Great truck by the way, I think it'd look great with the flares and door handles painted black too.

Mike was hanging out in the land of the 7x series - 2 BJ70's, 1 HZJ75 pickup, 1 HZJ77, 1 BJ70 Ragtop, 1 HZJ76 series. and in the field is 70 series body, 2 HZJ79 series :D

Dan, you have no idea how bad I want to take this through fredricktown! I'm going to pull my off-road tent trailer back by the mud pit to camp. Of course I have to clear it with Bompers.
